Dr. Allison Hanauer, PHD

Best counselor I have ever worked with.

She broke HIPPA, said that she did so because she thought the people she told "already knew" even though I constantly said they didn't. She was judgmental, constantly compared me to her children who are literally adults, acted like I was stupid, consistently rude, always made me feel invalidated, and told my family members that I was lying and manipulating them when I was NOT (I have text records of what she said, it was very hurtful). Thankfully I have an incredible therapist now and have made so much more progress in much less time!

Was assigned to provider from QTC, for an exam. Weeks later, QTC has no report of my exam, and has not been able to get in contact with Dr. Hanauer at all. They informed me that they are missing many other reports as well. If she is behind, she could at least call the company that she has the contract with, and let them know. I am going to be very upset if I have to do the exam again with another provider. Apparently a previous comment says they are bad at responding at her office, and this is completely true.

Lists that she accepts BCBS on her site yet her receptionist (who doesn’t care about returning calls. Not like people who are calling are in a crisis or anything. The receptionist was very cold and probably needs to go sit behind a cubicle somewhere and text the crisis hotline because I think she needs it more than any of these patients do) says that she is in the process of no longer taking it. So, you might want to update that so people who have BCBS won’t call! Stupid!

Extremely knowledgeable and straightforward. Has kept me focused on the right things during our sessions and after. Would highly recommend her.
