I saw Adrienne for some months, and after weeks of pouring my heart out to her and expressing how in pain I was inwardly, she began to fall asleep in our appointments. She repeatedly told me that she didn’t know why I felt this way, and that there must be things I haven’t told her. Believe me, there was no mental stone left unturned on my end. When she began to fall asleep in my sessions, I gave her feedback on that not being the best idea for patients who are paying her to listen and give feedback. Her response was that she only falls asleep on patients who lie and don’t tell her everything. I later found an actual professional therapist, was diagnosed with Bipolar 1, was referred to a psychiatrist who gave me the medication I needed to feel as fulfilled as I do now. Adrienne has unfortunately become too old and out of touch to be doing such sensitive work, and in my honest opinion needs to retire before mentally harming more people who are doing their best to understand themselves.
