if i could rate negative stars i would. i echo every other review. she was rude and unprofessional. she didnt listen or let me talk. She dropped me off of the zoom call (essentially hanging up on me when i was crying). She was irresponsible, unempathic, and seemed threatened by my emotional state (yes i have major depression and anxiety) her disorganization and her callous behavior was extraordinary. She also deliberately entered false information in my chart claiming i was a no show for 2 of our appointments. when i called the cognitive health solutions corp to check on this, they said it was clear i hadnt missed an appointment but that she had 'marked you as a no show'. I was flabbergasted. ive had many excellent, effective, competant psychiatrists in my life. Aderonke Akande PMHNP is the first truely incompetant, harmful provider ive come across. Avoid her at all costs. I dont know why this woman is still practicing medicine.

Red Flags
Telehealth
I lost my psychiatrist of years and was referred to Aderonke Akande, simply to receive a prescription of my low-dosage maintenance medication that I've been taking for almost a decade. I was flabbergasted by many things from our one and only conversation, though rather than list them all, I'll just state that her personality felt extremely authoritarian. My gut was getting slammed with red flag warnings. It took me an entire day to unravel all the frustrating nonsense she created and to see how skillful she seemed at making me feel horrible. I feel she could be dangerous to anyone going through a crisis or in need of emotional support. I was lucky to be able to find a different provider right away. I would not recommend her to anyone.

Unkind &Robotic
Let’s say you are trying to help a troubled teen, who seems hesitant about expressing their deepest feelings & troubles to a complete stranger. Do you berate them for being shy? Do you tell them you can’t work with them after only 10 minutes into your assessment? This women didn’t even try to reassure my shy kid or tell her she knows it’s hard. She told her, then me, that she couldn’t work with us because we weren’t cooperating. (Because she said “I don’t know” too many times?) Not. One. Kind. Word. Not a single attempt to connect with the patient. Avoid this garbage human!

Horrible, uncaring, and blatantly dangerous.
She was rude and unpredictable. Made me quit cold turkey a medication I had been on for years and ignored my multiple requests to be put back on it even after they were marked as urgent. She has so far made me suffer through a month and half of withdrawal and has continued to ignore me while I suffer. I am currently trying to find a new doctor but who knows how long that will take. It is so dangerous and unprofessional for a doctor to take a patient off of meds like this.

Aderonke Akande is unprofessional, defensive, rude, unapologetic, disorganized, and lacks any sort of compassion or sympathy. She would waste time talking about irrelevant topics rather than address my concerns regarding the negative side effects I've been experiencing or discussing my test results. During our last meeting, I ended up having a massive panic attack because she refused to discuss the actual issues. Also said she'd have to increase my dose to the max amount before ruling it out as an ineffective. If I'm already experiencing apathy and disassociation, how would increasing the dose make things better? Also told me to start taking my old prescription, from years prior, that I previously stopped taking abruptly because I didn't have consistent access to it. That incident lead to a really traumatic mental breakdown that took 2 years to get past and the reason for seeking help in the first place. Terrible experience all around.
