PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE YOU MAKE AN APPOINTMENT!!
My mother was over-medicated by Dr. Zafar Shaheen to the point that it almost killed her. These were MULTIPLE medications that he prescribed for her. The amount of blood pressure medicine he put her on dropped her heart rate to 35. Her BP dropped to 70/30 (all documented). She was rushed to the hospital where her blood and her heart were tested, and it was found by the cardiologist there that she was on far too much heart medication. She was slowly titrated on a different and lower dose of medication. Her hospital stay left her weak, and she needed some in home physical therapy and a visiting nurse. After being presented with over 90 pages of records from her hospital stay, this doctor refused to sign the paperwork allowing her PT unless she came into the office to see him; an already extremely elderly, weak woman who could not walk on her own, who ended up in the hospital because of the medication he prescribed!! Very fortunately, my mother has switched to a more competent physician.

I have been a patient for over 15 years - my grown children go to him as do my parents. Very kind, caring and involved in your health. Physical, mental all around a great doctor who cares more than any I’ve seen.

Not a good doctor - please DO NOT go to him. He does not have respect for other healthcare professionals, he does not know how to talk to them at all as I overheard him being rude and disrespectful to them. Everyone is supposed to work together for the benefit of the patient, no one is smarter than one another, and I don't think he understands that. Worst doctor and worst experience ever. please do not go here if you want a good doctor who is kind and patient, he is the complete opposite.
