Saved my father
We came to Pt First Columbia ((after going to a different urgent care 4 days earlier and were sent home. ))as soon as Dr Mond saw my father and heard his symptoms he ordered my father an x-ray and it turned out he had walking pnemonia! Very grateful for this, my father felt comfortable with him - he has a good bedside manner.

Incredible doc
We came to patient first in Columbia MD because my father was having chest pains. Dr. Mond put him at ease and got us in and out quickly with plan for treatment. If we ever need, we will come back to see him again.

Incorrect diagnosis
Saw him at Pt First. He was rushed spoke over me was rough with my exam and sent me to the ER for a surgical procedure!! Totally freaked me out unnecessarily and the information was not sent to the referred hospital so it was like starting all over.

Highly recommend
Whenever I or anyone in our family needs to go to urgent care we see if Dr Mond is on call. He is very thorough, what we like the most is that he is not alarmist - and he tells it like it is. He doesn't do what some other docs do ,that sometimes scares patients, Dr Mond in contrast really looks at the big picture and communicates how things will be fine when they are indeed fine. We appreciate him.

Excellent
I only had to wait about 20 minutes before being seen. I have seen Dr. MOND before so I specifically asked for him. Great bedside manner, good clinician, it felt like we had known each other for a long time. Got my Rx from there (if I had taken it to CVS I would have probably waited for 3 days before it was ready). The only negative was the intake person, attitude, abrupt, bo compassion. The whole process was completed within an hour. I wish Dr. Mond was in private practice too.

Amazing experience
I have had a severe medical issue which no doctor was able to diagnose until I decided one day to come to Patient First near my house and try my luck there. Dr Mond got to the core of the issue right away and made suggestions that was life changing. I am very grateful.

Dismissive and Careless
This is a review for a visit with Dr. Mond at Patient First.Dr. Mond has a terrible bedside manner and rushed through examining my three year old. I brought him in for a suspected ear infection. Dr. Mond quickly looked in his ears and said there was no infection. He immediately turned to the computer and started typing. He didn't take the time to give him a thorough examination, and was extremely dismissive any time I had a comment or question. Not only that, but when the clock hit 8 PM, he opened the curtain to yell 'TIME!' as a reminder to have the staff lock the front door.We returned a few days later and was not surprised to discover that my son did in fact have an ear infection.

Steer Clear!
Has a terrible disposition, uncaring and tries to do the least he can do to help you. Has been wrong several times on myself and my families medical care issues. Terrible doctor, don't see him! Most awful doctor that has ever worked at Patient First in Columbia, MD.

Find another doctor
I had a bad experience with Dr Mond a few days ago, at Patient First in Columbia- and now I’m back. Sitting in a very busy waiting room again, paying again, in pain and my blood sugar elevated. And an I correct diagnosis for my severe heel pain. Why? Because he was in a hurry, arrogant, and refused to speak to me and neglected to run a culture on the urine test for the UTI. Instead he under-treated my Urinary condition, causing it to become more aggressive, and I’m in pain with elevated blood sugars due to the infection. He also diagnosed - without taking time to talk to me - my heel pain incorrectly and sent me to a neurologist. I could hardly stand on it. I immediately asked for the other doctor on staff, to re-evaluate. He suggested I treat it with heat as it appeared to be a tendon strain. The heat worked beautifully.

Miracle worker
I saw Dr Mond at Patient First for complications from strep throat. He was so attentive and caring to my concerns and pain. His bedside manner is A+. Whoever sees Dr Mond is lucky to be in his care.

great doc!
My mother fell down the stairs and we went to patient first for the first time. Dr. Mond was our doctor and he was very quick and efficient, made my mother feel happy and comfortable. Will be following up with him and would recommend friends to see him as well.

Quick to dismiss patient concerns
I agree with the other reviewers who had a subpar experience with Dr. Mond. He was quick to diagnose after a limited assessment and refused to do an X-ray when requested. He also did not seem interested in hearing our concerns and description of the symptoms and was quick to dismiss our concerns. Overall encounter took less than 5 minutes and he only recommended OTC medication. I do not recommend using him as a pcp in any capacity.

Do not see him as a patient.
Do not attend this urgent care if Dr. Mond is present. I have been a nurse for 15+ years. I took my daughter to the urgent care to get her knees checked for pain knowing that we could get an x-ray quickly there rather than spending hours and emergency room. This man has the worst bedside manner. He asked her a question about her niece and she repeated it in a manner that show that she did not understand what he was trying to ask. He goes on to say I guess that’s a no. That’s no way to treat a child. I understand very well how Busy urgent care as can be but he must not forget that he works with people who is looking for help from him. He gave us a bogus diagnosis and when I asked questions he gave a very arrogant and unprofessional answer. This was my first encounter with him and it will very much be my last.

arrogant & negligent
My mother fell and she went to patient first. She had a busted lip and a bump on her head. No tests on her vision, head or neck were done. Stitched up her lip. As a bonus told her that since she was vaccinated it was okay to just get COVID because everyone was going to get it anyway. In a follow up visit when my mother indicated that this could be considered dangerous advice because of long covid, he told her well I have been doing this 2 years so I know better. Her regular physician is going to do a cat scan, mri and other test that should have been done at patient first. If he is the only one working at Patient First go to another facility. If I could give 0 stars I would.

Dr. Mond was rude. When I asked him to tell me why he could not do a antibody test for Covid he said “ I’m not telling you again I’ve already explained it”. I said wow. He then proceeded to say he thought I would be nicer or less rude since I was a health care professional. I told him I was not rude I just didn’t understand. I really feel like he is the physician and regardless if I’m a healthcare professional he should explain it as many times as needed.

Dr. Mond has the best bedside manner that I have ever experienced at a Patient First. My 17 year old had earring backs stuck in her ear and not only was he gentle and patient with her, he was determined to solve the issue. He made her feel so comfortable and apologizes for any pain she may be feeling. She left with a smile and I left with relief.
