Dr. Xiaomei Chen, MD

I just moved to NJ and am trying to find a new PCP. I heard the doctor was good, but I didn't get a chance to visit her because the person at the front desk was so rude, refuse to give me appointment. First, she insisted that I have to pay the deductible even though I told her that I don't have any, and told her my insurance and ID. She rudely said that patients have to pay in Dr. Chen's office. I asked her to check my insurance status, but she refused. I called my insurance and verified the fact that I don't have any deductible or co-insurance with the PCP visiting. I called the office again right away and told her the results. She put me on a long hold. Finally, she gave me a date for the appointment but told me the date was not confirmed because I needed to give her my insurance card. I asked whether the appointment date could be confirmed when my insurance status goes through. she got so angry, said: go to the office you want to, and hung up on me.

I was a patient until without notice or explanation I was dropped form her care. When asked why that happened the doctor had no reason and would not even speak to me. Even the nurses had no reason why to give me. As with all that the staff is also rude and rushes thorough all their work not sparing a look at you. Not a very comforting office.

When my previous family clinic moved out of my area, I was hoping to find another male physician like before. My wife insisted that I try Dr. Chen's practice out because she's been very happy with her. This was 10 years ago, and I have also become a very gratified patient of Dr. Xiaomei Chen. Her staff members are all very courteous and professional, I do not understand why there is someone here thinking otherwise. With Dr. Chen, you would never feel being rushed. She's a respectful, as well as genuine caring and personable physician. She gives advices on diet and lifestyle, follows up on every check-up and test result, and goes out of her way to help resolving issues with prescriptions and insurance company. My wife did me a great favor by sending me to Dr. Chen, and I can also confidently recommend Dr. Xiaomei Chen to anyone who's looking for a general medical practice.

If everyone wants this doctor charge you for telling you the lab results, go for it. No sense of responsibility, worst doctor ever.

Amazing professionalism and great service

Highly recommend Dr Chen! We have used her service for a few years now. She is highly experienced in family/primary care, and always takes time with us. She follows up timely, with great attention to detail. Her staff is professional and friendly. The office is conveniently located as well.
