Skilled and knowledgeable
Dr. Winnie Tong was great from start to finish with my breast reduction surgery. She was very good at helping me manage my expectations on what my results would like, answered all questions I had as they came along, and is very matter of fact which I find helpful. Though she's a straight shooter, she's still really nice. My breast reduction was successful and she's been lovely during post opp visits as well.

terrible experience. She talked to me like it was the first time she met me after 8 times that we spoke my surgery recovering was extremely painful and I lost a lot of blood I became unable to sleep or eat for 3 weeks because the pain (it wasnt normal) I became anemic in 1 month I was very pale, anxious 10 ponds less in 3 weeks and asked her what happened in the surgery she didnt say anything or give me help. I called my regular doctor after blood tests I confimed that I lost a lot of blood my Hemoglobin drop a lot( it was normal before surgery). I switched doctor and I have another surgery same spot (breast reconstruction) and this time everything went smoothly and well. Dr Tong doesn't remember patients or surgery plan. I didnt feel safe to have another surgery with her

The worst and most traumatic experience
She did my reversal surgery for my vaginoplasty, I trusted her and after the surgery I had complications the depth was minimal I could barely insert the dilator to the first point and my urethra was swollen and Dr Tong mentioned that this would improve over time and Every day it lost more depth and the urethra became more inflamed. I scheduled many appointments with her for review and it was always the same thing that would improve and it never did. When I told her that you had lied to me and I was not getting better, she just abandoned me with my process and said that they would assign me another Kaiser doctor and they only offered me another surgery, which is colon surgery, a very risky type of surgery that I did not want and they told me that it was What there was that if I wanted I could take it or if not I could look for other options because that's what there was. Personally I am very frustrated and I had to take therapy sessions for this difficult situation that Dr Tong.

Does not care
Worst experience possible. First she skipped two pre-op appointments without notice. Then she wasn't available after the surgery, and when the was she was a terrible communicator. Had to switch to a different doctor a month after the surgery because I did not feel safe with her. Surgery results were poor and need revision.

Worst bedside manner I’ve ever experienced
I’ll spare you the boring details, but I had the worst experience I’ve ever had with a doctor with Dr. Tong. I was appalled at her treatment of me and filed a complaint with Kaiser but they refused to do anything meaningful so I feel the need to warn other patients here. If you do seek a consult with her, I’d bring a witness with you.
