Dr. Willis was an absolute godsend in my life. I’ve since moved away from the area, but he will forever hold a special place in my heart for the way he treated me with dignity and respect while being the first Dr. to treat me as a valuable human being. Not only did he effectively address my needs (that I couldn’t even accurately articulate at the time), but his incorporation of a therapeutic, holistic approach helped me build coping skills and shift my perspective in a way that forever changed my life for the positive. At perhaps the lowest point of my life, he helped me build back my confidence. I never felt that he made flippant decisions regarding my treatment and unlike any doctor I had seen prior or since, he would thoroughly discuss with me the risks associated with specific medications. Truly, I do not know where I would be had it not been for Dr. Willis’ role in my life. I wish that anyone with the need for mental health treatment had the opportunity to be his patient.
