Rude and dismissive, left appointment in tears
This man cost me my job. I was assigned to him for my workers comp case and he was curt, dismissive, and condescending. He never spent more than 3 minutes with me and any question I asked seemed like a huge inconvenience to him. He never explained my injury to me and when I asked questions he told me he 'couldn't predict the future.' He sent me back to work with no continuation of care despite me expressing concerns that this could lead to reinjury. When I made a follow up appointment with him because I was in pain again, he told me to get a brace off Amazon and take ibuprofen. Well, the very next day I was injured again and I have since lost my job. Thanks Dr. Vitello, your allegiance to workers comp and not the patients you're treating is abundantly clear.

Outstanding care
Dr. Vitello performed outpatient surgery on my right wrist in mid-February, 2025. I coouldn't be more impressed with his demeanor, communication skills, & expertise. Wait room time isminimal; I was always seen in a timely manner. His assistant couldn't have been better; she helped me schedule various pre-op tests in an efficient, kindly manner. I recommend this provider highly.

Avoid like the plague, does not listen to patients
I was referred to Dr. Vitello for issues related to my right arm. He prescribed a year of PT which eventually helped for tendonitis, however I continued having pain in my right shoulder that I explained had been chronic for many years. After the year of PT I indicated the issue persisted and asked if we can perform an MRI to gain a deeper understanding. He ignored my request and prescribed 6 more months of PT. After 6 more months of PT, my Physical Therapist also said the therapy was not working and I asked them for a referral to someone better. As soon as I saw that new surgeon they apologized that Dr. Vitello had not listened to me and I had such poor care. After an immediate MRI we were able to discover the root problem and now I am on the road to true recovery. Each visit Dr Vitello saw me for no more than 10 minutes and did not listen to my repeated concerns or ideas. If I were you, I'd avoid working with him and seek a professional who listens to their patients concerns.

Would Recommend
I was able to make an appointment on short notice and receive great care. I had numerous visits with Dr. Vitello throughout my treatment and all were on-time (if not early) and professional. My finger is now far along in the healing process and feeling better every day. Dr. Vitello explained my options clearly for treatment and allowed me to make the best decision for myself.

Dr. Vitello regarding my hand surgeries.
In the last two years, I have had 3 hand surgeries by Dr. Vitello. All went smoothly and the results were perfect. Quick recoveries in all instances. My office visits with Dr. Vitello have always been pleasant and informative. I would definitely recommend Dr. Vitello if you have any issues that he can handle.

Cannot recommend enough!
I had a repeated hand injury that Dr. Vitello saw me for. He asked questions to understand the progress of my recovery and my concerns. He made sure to give me advocacy in the decision-making process for follow-up/physical therapy. As a young person looking to continue participating in athletics, he confidently reassured me that this outcome was possible. He is very conversational and doesn't just diagnose and send you on your way. I cannot recommend Dr. Vitello and IBJI enough!

I saw Dr. Vitello for a fractured wrist. He was brief and Kevin splinted my wrist . I was impressed with how well the office ran--I waited a short time, was x-rayed quickly, saw Dr. V and had a splint in less than 1 hour. His assistant had the notes ready for me and made another appointment in one week. Each time I had the same experience. He's not chatty, but is competent and that's what counts. One of the best medical experiences I've had.

Extremely happy with my Care & Recovery
I first saw Dr.Vitello for pain in my right wrist earlier this year and most recently for a dislocated/fracture of my left wrist after an accident both times he was direct , honest and explained my condition and what needed to be done clearly to me . He’s a man of few words but answers all of my questions and I was always seen on time . I’m currently recovering from surgery and am very happy where I am today being able to use my hand and wrist and my scar is almost invisible . I will not hesitate to see him again if needed and definitely recommend him .

Dr. Vitello went above and beyond to explain my options to me when my index finger was fractured and dislocated. He clearly cares about patient outcomes, including the financial burden incurred. The surgery was complex, but went smoothly, and he has a close relationship with occupational therapists, making recovery smooth as well. His administrative assistant, Lisa was also extremely helpful and responsive.

Extremely pleased with Dr Vitello's care
Dr Vitello was clear, thorough, and very kind to me during the care of my wrist. I had never broken a bone before, so I didn't know what to expect. Dr. Vitello explained well, and I asked additional questions about when I could drive safety, etc. He is a very good doctor and I feel I received excellent care with his progress appts and occupational therapy. Highly recommended.

Great experience
Dr. Vitello was very upfront and direct about the seriousness of the procedure and necessary healing time, which helped me (impatient) understand how important it was to adhere to the timeline. He is no nonsense yet open to any questions and will explain anything you need in detail.

I broke my right wrist, went to the ER where they splinted it and told me to follow up with my doctor. Before I even left the ER, I called Dr. Vitello's office, having had a great experience with him treating arthritis in my left thumb. What I like most about Dr. V is that he is a no b.s. doctor. He explains things well, without dumbing it down, and he doesn't sugar-coat anything, which I really appreciate. After xrays showed the bone was healing just a bit off, he scheduled me for surgery, which we ended up cancelling after subsequent xrays showed adequate healing. People say don't go to a surgeon and expect them to say you don't need surgery, but in this case, people were wrong. It was Dr. Vitello who convinced me not to assume the unnecessary risk of surgery as my wrist would regain functionality without it. I'm religiously doing my PT and my home exercises and I'm doing great. I hope to never break another bone in my hand or wrist, but if I do, I know who I'm going to call.

Dr Vitello is a no nonsense person. Communication was clear with no fluff. He attempted the least invasive treatments and then moved to surgery when those did not work. The office staff was great at making clear what was needed on my end, all referrals, etc. The surgery went smoothly and as he explained it.

I had a trigger finger on my left hand. I went to Dr. Vitello as referred by my pcp. He was so attentive and direct to the point about what's my problem and come up w/ a plan. At first, i was on steroids injections but was not resolved. So, i had my surgery done successfully by Dr. Vitello. I'm so pleased and satisfied w/ the outcome of the surgery. He's calm, cool, and open to suggestions so that in the end both of you agreed with the plan/treatment options. The on-line appointment is so easy, and the staffs were so friendly/accomodating. I highly recommend Dr. Vitello for any orthopedic problems.
