My late husband saw this doctor and I went to the appointment with him. My husband was diagnosed with multiple conditions by highly respecteded doctors at a famous teaching hospital in another state. Upon moving back to this area we saw this doctor and he refused to accept the previous doctors' diagnosis claiming my husband did not have these conditions and refused to give him necessary medication. We left this doctor and waited for an appointment with a reputable rheumatologist who immediately recognized, tested for and confirmed the previous diagnoses and treated his conditions.

Good Experience
I had a very good experience with Dr. Venanzi. He was very thorough in reading all of my prior test results and interpreting them for me. While he deemed that my condition was not related to a rheumatology issue, he was supportive. I felt heard and he addressed all of my concerns.

Terrible Doctor
Horrendous experience. He didn't listen to a single word I said during the appointment, likely because he was too busy trying to form his own narrative of my condition. He spent the whole time arguing about my established diagnosis, and talking about changing the treatment plan I've been stable on, and has been highly effective, for years.

No Testing for Severe Pain Diagnosis
Dr did No testing for my Severe Pain / just pushed on my Fingers. Very Rude and in his Drs Notes to my New Dr wrote how I Talked “ Crazy” because I mentioned God & my “Faith” in Him. Also when I came back to Ask about Physical Therapy I was told that he could Not Refer me. Despite in previous Apt. he said he could Refer me for Acupuncture or PT.

DO NOT SEE THIS DOCTOR!
LISTEN TO THE REVIEWS, DON’T THINK YOUR VISIT MAT BE DIFFERENT. HE WILL TREAT YOU LIKE YOU’RE LYING. Awful visit and once he determined I didn’t have what my pcp thought I had symptoms of, he was not willing to listen or look at anything else or look into anything else. His ‘evaluation’ will be a quick feel of your joints if your lucky. He told me my pcp shouldn’t be running multiple tests to see if I had consistent highs or lows found in my bloodwork (I’m pretty sure that’s how you find out if something is wrong?). He also won’t look at the patient packet the office makes you fill out, and if he does he won’t read it well. Tried to tell me I had a sleep disorder based off of someone else’s chart. Lastly if they can’t get an initial vital sign of of you, they may put an average on your after visit summary.

Worst doctor I have ever seen!
Sad excuse for a doctor. I was so happy to find them close by. I’ve always driven over an hour. My last rheumatologist passed away and that’s left me searching the bottom barrel of doctors apparently. First, he didn’t do any testing at all. I found that strange because he looked at me and told me nothing is wrong with me. I didn’t know that doctors now have X-ray vision. On top of that, he literally spoke to me like I am a child or like I was stupid. I could tell this guy was getting through the appointments just to get the office visit. No testing was scheduled and no further plan was made. I was in tears before I got out of the door. I decided I would go one more time to see if he would take me seriously. I was told I had to submit another referral and even then would have to wait for them to let me know if he would see me despite the fact that it’s been only a month since my last visit. Long story short: DONT GO HERE. ITS WORTH A LONG DRIVE TO NOT HAVE TO SEE THIs QUACK.

WORST doctor I have ever met in my life. He does NO physical or verbal exam, but somehow can provide detailed notes in your chart regarding it. He is condescending, rude, and very plainly does care about you and isn't shy about showing it. He had NO access or desire to view any of my prior care or treatment or labwork from my PCP. or labwork. Didn't even ask about my symptoms. He has no business being in a position of care. He did not have any interest in speaking to my PCP or getting my lab results. In his notes, he made sure to mention I have depression and anxiety SEVERAL times and that I'm a single mother. I never even divulged this information to him, and it was obvious he had decided this was all in my head. I've filed a complaint not only with the medical board in Ohio but also with my insurance. We ended up walking out of this appointment because staying was absolutely worthless. Please, go elsewhere if you need actual care.

Just an awful person all around. Shouldn’t be able to bill for an examination seeing as how he doesn’t care about his patients and doesn’t even conduct exams for more than 5 minutes. Doesn’t listen, doesn’t care about patients, actually tells people they need to provide their own records because in his words, “no one is going to chase down records.” Literally LIED on a medical chart.

I've worked in medicine for more than a decade and have never encountered a worse doctor. Did not bother to ask questions or even perform a peremptory exam. Came in having clearly decided what was going on without bothering to ask about new symptoms or issues. I'm frankly horrified that he's even licensed to practice and I would stay as far away as humanly possible.

Horrible experience!! I waited two week for an appointment, them knowing what insurance I had. I get to my appointment and they refuse to see me due to not accepting my insurance. Shouldn’t they have told me that when I gave them all my information over the phone?!!!?

Really wish I would have come to read the comments before going to this appointment. If you want to leave feeling worthless and have a mental breakdown then this is your place to go. He basically was laughing in my face. He said he didn't even look into my chart. He told me my ana was negative in March but that's not even the blood work that referred me to him. He said he didn't even have i That on hand. When that blood work was the exact thing that sent me there . He said that I did not for a fact have what I was previously diagnosed with when h didn't even ave paperwork to back him up. He is a complete joke of a doctor. And a very uncaring person in general. Before even talking to me he basically told me it is in my head. Oh, he also for whatever reason put oil on one of my fingers. Didn't mention why or what he was looking for. But it wasn't even the finger I havee issues with?? just please don't waste your time.

Worst experience ever!! He is very condescending, aggressive, and intimidating. He would ask me a question and before I could get a word out, he would interrupt me. I have worked in healthcare for 14 years and have NEVER experienced a so-called "health care professional" like him. Needless to say, I went once and won't be back!

I first came in contact with Dr. Venanzi at the WP Med Center when he was active duty....over 20 years ago. I received great treatment for my RA which I had suffered with since 35 yrs old....I am now 66. After he retired I tracked him down and have continued to receive the best treatment plans for managing my RA. I have been pain free over a year. His Nurse Tammi is also great and followed him after he retired. There are not many Rheumatology Specialists in the Beavercreek area so as long as he is in this area I will continue to be his patient. Some say his bedside manner is not great.....however I am interested in a Dr. that understands my condition and is no Nonsense. He is also very thorough when coming up with a different treatment......as far a moving on to the next level of drugs.

Not only does he not keep up with current statistics/ data/ research he is absolutely insulting!!! If you want a Rheumy that is stuck in the dark ages and someone to insult your health... he is perfect! He doesn’t even know what he is talking about... he kept saying things about diseases that were completely untrue and that have been proven to not be true. In his mind autoimmune diseases are curable and he knows why someone ended up with one/ some. His nurse couldn’t even pronounce simple disease names properly that are spelled exactly how they sound. One’s that are used daily in the public/ non-sick. This doctor and his nurse were so incredibly rude and ignorant! To be honest... the last time this man did ANY sort of research was probably when he was in his residency in the Air Force, 20 years ago... If the patient knows more than the doctor there is definitely a problem. This is probably the reason why it was so easy to get in to be seen so soon. No one ever comes back!

I was very ill and went to go see him a few years ago. I got better much quickly and things are under control now. I moved out of the area but several other specialists who saw my chart said he did a good job treating my condition. And this is at one of the best lupus clinics in the nation. So I got great care in a small market in Dayton, Ohio. I’m happy.

I also had a bad experience with this guy. I went to him for fibromyalgia but without even examining me, he told me I didn’t have it. I never even sat down. I was still standing by the door. I don’t think I was in there for more than three minutes.
