If I could give him 0 stars then I would.
He was very rude to my loved one. No compassion, irritated with questions, told family he was 'being a baby, it couldn't hurt that bad when he was pressing on an open wound.' He accused him of staying in hospital for 3 square meals a day.

Dr. Thompson - Quality Care Professional
Telehealth
In March of this year (2024), I was diagnosed with Stage 1 pancreatic cancer and was referred to Dr. Thompson for surgery. From initial meeting to discharge and subsequent follow ups, Dr. Thompson was very thorough and compassionate. He took the time to explain things to me and even showed me diagrams and explaining the various outcomes. He was calm and reassuring and helped set me at ease about the process and aftercare. Furthermore, his staff has always been very caring and compassionate as well with phone calls and follow ups and inquiries on a personal level.

Disrespectful and cold
We were discussing surgery or having a port put in before our family member was discharged. He pulled out his list and proceeded to tell us he had been on call all weekend and we could do it outpatient. We explained we lived nearly 2 hours away he didn’t care! He said that’s not a hardship. He proceeded to tell us that it was cancer even though he wasn’t the oncologist or his admitting physician. No bedside manner. Made it clear that he was tired from working on call all weekend and even though he told family member everything negative he could then proceeded to say it could be done outpatient. I wonder if it was his child, wife, or family how he would feel to be treated in such a manner. The admitting physician didn’t want to tell us till the MRI came back which it had not. But he didn’t care. Definitely he does not show compassion towards family or patients. He told us about stage 4 cancer like he was saying he had a cold. Now go home and I’ll call you back when I have time!

DO NOT USE DR. Thompson
To be in healthcare and working with Cancer he has ZERO compassion!!! He is so inconsiderate and discourteous. He rushes you in and rushes you out!! Your just a case number to and nothing more except what he gets paid because he for sure has zero compassion! If I could rate him a zero I would! How he spoke to my family member for the FIRST TIME that he had stage 4 cancer was as if he was telling him as if he had toe fungus!!! Trust me do NOT let ANY of your loved ones see him!

Terrible beside manner. He is the on call for many Doctors but gets angry if he has to take a call. Reminded me many times at my bedside he doesn’t do charity care when I have never left a bill owed. As angry as I will always be at him, one day he will need a Doctor and I wish him a better one than he was to me.

Dr. Thompson had terrible bedside manner. Although he is a good surgeon, he frequently insulted my grandmother and our family throughout our unfortunate relationship with him. He declared that she was "so far gone she did not deserve treatment" without being the doctor in charge of her treatment. He made comments like these frequently and in front of her, which is completely unprofessional. He also got into a screaming match in her room with our family on more than one occasion in her room.

Very good bedside manner and will take all the time that a patient needs to answer ANY questions. Including drawings and explanations and prognosis. The new phone system is sometimes slower than the previous one at Trinity but his nurses assistant sometimes is in clinic, but she will get in touch ASAP.
