Kind and knowledgeable
I have been seeing Dr Stephenson for multiple years for chronic anemia. I am a very complex patient with a dozen providers working various aspects of my care. We have been able to work out a proactive approach to my issues instead of the reactive approach other providers used in the past. This has greatly improved my quality of life. Dr Stephenson is kind and knowledgeable. He and his office have been willing to deal with my insurance company’s strange approval rules and has fought them when necessary.

Try another provider at Utah Cancer
Dr. Stephenson's bedside manner overshadows his care. I felt like an inconvenience instead of a priority. Dismissive of questions, unwilling to discuss questions with my mother (who was also present at the appointment), and had me confused with some other patient. ('I just saw you last week, why are we meeting again?' Reader: I hadn't just met with him. Maybe he should look at the correct chart before making medical decisions?) Schedule with another provider at Utah Cancer when possible.
