Out of line nurse
I’ve been a patient of Dr. Schmalz for years. He’s always been wonderful. You can tell he really loves his job, and taking extra care of his patients. BUT, one of the nurses (Jaime) stepped way out of line at a visit a few months back. Dr. Schmalz and I were discussing something that brought up my PTSD. Jaime immediately in a rude tone looked over at me and said “ what makes YOU THINK you have PTSD?” I was absolutely floored, speechless and hurt by this remark. I snapped right back at her and told her EXACTLY why I have PTSD (not that it was any of her business), AND her BOSS, Dr Schmalz diagnosed me with this mentally debilitating syndrome. A nurse should NEVER asked a patient a question like that like, no excuse!!! She needs to retire, seems like she’s just plain and simple over her job. I requested I didn’t want Jaime as my nurse from there on.

Rude front office girl ALWAYS
Dr. Schmalz himself is a fantastic Dr.! Nurses are great but the one girl in front is so rude and condescending and always tries to make a person feel like crap! Not worth being treated like that when you already feel bad and she has no idea what is going on in people's lives at the time. She only makes it worse by the way she treats you. Britney!

Dr Schmaltz is the best at what he does. He knows Lyme and Rocky Mountain Spotted fever and helps his patients with care and understanding not look at them like they are nuts.

Dr. Schmalz is very knowledgeable, but does not follow-up with his patients. He prescribed meds that required dr. pre-approval for insurance. Called office 4 times. Over two weeks, still haven't received my meds. Dr. wait time 3+ hrs. His staff is very rude! Dr. called for me to come in after work for recheck. When arrived the office staff said they had to knowledge of the appt. & I would have to wait my turn - 2/12 hrs! Was informed if I felt well enough to work, I felt well enough to wait.
