Dr. Rainer made me feel comfortable with my decision to have a total left hip replacement. He answered all my questions honestly, and made me feel confident that this was the right decision at this time.

Most Compassionate Doctor I have ever met.
I was a patient of his when he was doing his residency at the Mayo Clinic. I developed some problems through no fault of his. He went out of the way to make sure I was being well cared for. His bedside manner was the best I have ever experienced and I was over 80 at the time. I just knew he would be a great doctor who his patients would love. I will never forget him.

Superior care close to home
I had postponed hip replacement because I thought I would have to travel out of the area to get the best and latest orthopedic care. Then I researched local surgeons and came across Dr. Rainer. My husband came with me to my first appointment since he had an many questions as I did. We both came away thoroughly impressed and relieved that truly expert care was an option for me locally. Dr. Rainer was never rushed, and took all the time needed to explain the pros and cons, the risk and benefits and answered all of our questions. Being a former professional cyclist, I live a much more active life than others my age (early 50s). Dr. Rainer understood how important is was for me to return to cycling, and within two weeks I was back on my bike (indoors). I would not hesitate one second in recommending Dr Rainer to anyone considering hip replacement!

Knee Replacement
My first visit with Dr Rainer, I explained to him that I was trying to avoid knee replacement. He very thoroughly reviewed the history with my knee (including previous procedures), the current x-rays and what my options were going forward. I didn't feel pressured at all, but knee replacement was the best option. The surgery went well and I was told 12 weeks before I could resume activities (mainly golf), and I was back at it in just over 6 weeks. His follow up has been great, and I am glad I chose him and the surgery.

Hip replacement
From start to finish Dr Rainer lll was professional, knowledgeable and courteous. Every step was explained, from start to finish. Under his care I never felt anxious or scared of the procedure. Post care was easy. He offered exercises to do at home that strengthened my hip area and helped my muscles in that area to rebuild. I would recommend Dr Rainer lll, as your first choice, to anyone needing hip replacement. With the surgery I have regained a functional, happy and active life without pain. Shayne Armstrong.
