Disappointed
I saw this doctor for an initial visit and a follow up visit. The information I was told at the follow up appointment was completely different than what I was told at the first appointment. I was spoken to in a condescending way for not knowing or doing things that were not explained to me at any point. Medication information and side effects were also not discussed with me.

The best orthopedic hands down !!
Dr Matarese is the best orthopedic you could ever go to. There is no one who comes even close to his expertise with orthopedic issues. He actually is as good or even better than HSS in the city who is supposedly number one. I drive over an hour for my knee issues to see him . He has helped me tremendously. I have seen others drs before him. No one can compare to him !

Excellent experience

One of the Best
I had some severed arm pain- called the office on a Friday and had an apt for the following Wed AM. Took me right in- and had me in an X-ray within 10 min after a brief history. Always on time and tentative. I love Dr Matarese office and staff. Top notch.

Avoid him at all costs
He is one of the worst "doctors" I have ever seen. He is more concerned about displaying his "knowledge" and showing how superior he is to people. He does not listen to patients. One day I was in his office and had to wait an hour and half. He is listed as the head of orthopedic surgery at St. Josephs Wayne, but clearly does not share the same values as that institution.

went to see Dr Matarese for the fist on 3/15 for knee pain. He is fantastic. He takes his time and listens to why you are there. Goes over what the plan of action is. Makes you feel like family. The front desk and the desk where you make your appointments are also fantastic. Office is very clean. The practice makes you feel like you are family and not just a file or a number . I would highly recommend them to my family and friends. ??????

Great experience
This is the 3rd surgery Dr M has performed on me , 1st on this knee and he is professional, approachable and willing to take time to explain the process. The recovery & post op was complimented by the physical therapist I used as they noted they see a lot of knee surgeries and yours had minimal swelling and pretty good movement. The pain afterwards was also minimal. Overall very good experience from beginning to end
