Pass this guy by
Our experience was exceptionally, “unfortunate”.Dr. Massey has a long list of poor reviews over several sites. Our experience ran true to this history. He is now practicing at Kaiser Permanente South Sacramento. His bedside manner and empathy are absent as is his communication skills and cultural competence with patients representative of diverse communities. My LO deserves better. We will be changing providers and practices as soon as current goals are resolved.Beware protect yourself and pass this provider by.You also deserve better.

transgender folx beware
While I'm sure a neurotypical cisgender person would receive fine care from Dr. Massey, I would strongly advise against other transgender individuals appointing him as their primary. He refused to continue my testosterone prescription from a prior doctor, saying I needed an endocrinologist to prescribe it, and then proceeded to dodge all of my messages and calls about getting that referral set up. I ended up having to circumvent the matter myself by making several phone calls to people who weren't sure how to help me until something finally worked out. I can't in good conscience recommend anyone with gender affirming care needs to see this man, as they will not receive the care they need without fighting an uphill battle.

Very accommodating, will always fit you in for an appointment. Will get back to you to assist over the phone. Will provide a referral with no issue when needed. Will run any tests needed to resolve health issues. He has helped my entire family for 20 years.

Doctor Massey always makes an exception for any time I need a visit. My last visit he adjusted my visit on a days notice. He has been my doctor for the past twenty years and has always been there for me with any cold or more serious illness.

Would not recommend especially as a suboxone doctor. Terrible bedside manner. Doesn’t look at you when he’s talking and acts like you’re an inconvenience. He never remembered a single thing about me. And when I really needed help and confessed I was depressed and suicidal he refused to write a simple script of Zoloft (not controlled - antidepressant). I even asked if I could pay him to be seen as an urgent care patient just to get help and he said no. Guy just doesn’t care.

I think he is a great doctor. He was my PCP prior to moving. I have been out of state for several years recently moving back. Before choosing a health care plan I made sure he was a provider. He saved a coworkers life. She had stage 4 breast cancer. I would highly recommend him.

I wouldn’t send my worst enemy to dr Massey. He doesn’t understand his patients due to a language barrier and when he does understand, he doesn’t even look at you and always makes it seem like you’re seriously an inconvenience to his life. Always taking personal phone calls while with me and I’m fact arguing with his family on the phone while I’m in pain waiting for my doctor. Don’t ever go here. I seriously doubt he has an actual degree.
