After the trauma of an unsuccessful cataract surgery, I was referred to Dr. Barry Lee. Although initially I remained skeptical about further surgery, Dr. lee and his staff quickly calmed my fears with their caring and professional manner. I had another surgery to repair some of the damage, and I am pleased to say the results have exceeded my expectations. I would highly recommend Dr. Lee to anyone that has had a negative experience with another eye doctor. He truly is compassionate, caring, and experienced.

Was very surprised that I was seen at my appointment time. This was my first visit and a referral for a second opinion from my normal eye Doctor's office who I have been going to for close to ten years. The lens in my left eye is very narrow. The equipment resources here are second to none. Dr Lee did a complete review on my cataract eye status. we both agreed for a follow-up visit in 4 months to determine when surgery should be scheduled. I'm very fortunate that Dr Lee has agreed to do the surgery.

This practice is so large, they can’t take care of patients. VERY LARGE MISTAKES!!!! -3 calls from my Referring MD before they even contacted me. -Got appt, I arrived and they had moved my time to 30 minutes earlier, with no notice. -They asked for my paperwork- which they hadn’t sent me, so I filled it out on the spot. - Got into the 1st exam-was told I wasn’t supposed to wear my contacts for a week before- but never told. - Met with Dr. Lee (very nice) -said I wanted the minimal correction in my cataract surgery. He agreed. -Went to get my pre-op drops, they had the wrong birthdate on all my records!! -Surgery was set, and I waited to be sedated to tell him, again, I wanted minimal correction. -At 7pm, Dr.Lee called me at home to tell me he wouldn’t be seeing me for follow up. (He was in Macon-and knew that when he scheduled me.) Had to pay my MD for a follow up. -HE OVERCORRECTED MY EYE-so no glasses due to the extreme difference. -Now there are retinal issues.

Dr. Lee and his staff are the best. With him being so specialized, I didn’t have high expectations regarding his bedside manner. I expected him to be detached and to the point. I was very wrong. He was attentive and caring. He laid out my options and gave recommendations. He is a very busy surgeon, so the wait time can be kind of long.

After a year of trying to find a doctor to prescribe glasses which would allow me to see. I decided to visit Dr. Lee. I can not tell you how thankful I am to have Dr. Lee as my vision Doctor! He was honest and up front about why a new prescription would not help. I had cataracts. This is why you need to see an ophthalmologist. Thank you Dr. Lee for helping me improve my vision in many ways!! You are a fabulous surgeon! The only one I would trust performing surgery on my eyes!

My first visit with Dr Lee and I was very pleased. He took the time to run all the right tests and review “floaters” in my left eye. His staff was also extremely attentive. I would highly recommend Dr Lee.

Dr Barry was the best. Was told I would need glasses from others. But, Dr Lee shared he could provide mono vision for me with the correction of near sighted in one eye and far sighted In the other. The best.

Dr Lee is good Dr. Unfortunately when he comes to Macon, overwhelmed.Waits are LONG(2 hours not uncommon). My outcome not as good as most seem to be. The biggest minus is he is from Atlanta & in town only once a month.(Should have thought that one through) You need help, you end up with local doctor. Start with a doctor that you can have continuity with.

See my previous review. These are by nature a " point in time". Adding a second review for my second eye is very telling! This second procedure was even more remarkable. The left eye is much improved...normal 20/20. Feels good, sees great. My right eye was corrected 4/3/2017. Even better restoration of acuity. One week after surgery my vision was near perfect. Today it if 20/20. What more can you ask for? Remarkable results from a remarkable physician!

I have had a rapidly diminishing visual acuity for the past several months due to Fuch's Dystrophy. Ten days ago I had DMEK procedure. Though it was painless, I did feel like I had some minor scratchiness for 36 hours. My recovery is phenomenal. I have not enjoyed such acuity, color discrimination or clarity. Since this was done to my worst eye. My vision is normal just ten days post-op! I am excited about the prospects of my right eye having this same procedure. I cannot praise him enough!

I've been seeing Dr. Lee for just under 1 year. If I could afford it, I would rent a billboard telling you why you should see him, and how much I just LOVE him and his staff. While he is not typically long in the treatment room, he will spend as much time as you need to understand past, present and future with your condition. He cares, and cares deeply about his patients. He can be alternately as serious or as upbeat and exuberant as your mood or the situation calls for. LOVE, LOVE LOVE him

Dr. Lee did cataract surgery on my mom and a cornea transplant on me. My mom is 20/20 and she does not need glasses for anything!! He did a new partial cornea transplant surgery on me called DMEK and I have never seen better in my right eye. I cannot wait to have the other eye fixed. Dr. Lee has taken such good care of my family and I feel like he is an angel to our family!! He is the best!!

Dr. Lee removed cataracts in both of my eyes. I have cornea scarring in one eye and was referred to him because of this by another ophthalmologist who would not attempt the surgery. It was very successful and after the surgery he recommended a sclera contact lens for this eye. He also has removed a nodule from the cornea of my other eye. He has helped me so much and I am so grateful for him and his staff.
