I recently had glaucoma surgery, it went very smoothly. From the time I was greeted by staff, through the procedure and follow ups, everything went so well. I'm grateful for Dr Kaufold. And for all the care I have received from Dr Hyder and Dr Kaufold. Accommodating and trustworthy and kind.

Dr. Kaufold recently provided care for a lingering problem I had from previous cataract surgery done at a different ophthalmology practice. A few weeks ago he performed cataract surgery on my other eye. Dr. Kaufold, his office staff, and everyone at the River Valley ASC kept me well informed and patiently answered any questions I had. This has truly been an amazingly smooth, patient focused, trouble free experience. How wonderful to have clear vision restored! I could not be happier!

Everyone was fantastic

Had a scheduled appt with Dr Kaufold that was re-scheduled same day as was another patient in the lobby. Is this common practice? Dr Kaufold is very knowledgable and nice but he seemed like a lot of information was given in a short time. Would like it explained slower. Maybe its just im older?

This was the BEST eye exam I've had in my life. The staff were personable and effective.

Dr. Kaufold helped me through Shingles in the eye which was debilitating. He was there right from the call from the ER and kept me from having any serious complications. He is very Professional, Caring, and Knowledgeable. I feel lucky to be in his care.

After asking a couple routine questions, he abruptly decided that I needed artificial tears and prescription drops. His justification? No one my age could really need bifocals, so it must be chronic dry eye. When I protested, he became defensive and even downright hostile. I just wanted an updated prescription, to replace a newly broken pair. Dr. Kaufold tried to send me home without one, forcing me to wait a month for it because he was so convinced of his theory. All I wanted was for that appointment to be over (and my prescription)! Dr. Kaufold made me feel small, because his ego mattered more to him than my care. I am never going back to this practice, and would not recommend him to others.
