I do not recommend
I had right knee replacement on 10/2021. This doctor does not believe in therapy, so he does not start therapy until week 2. He gets upset easily and you need to go online and read your notes. My 6 week f/u note had some incorrect information but Duke allowed me file a form to have it amended. Duke is great but find another joint doc.

Dr Jiranek performed total hip joint replacement on my wife. VERY pleased with his quality of care. Showed superior interest, compassion, and care. Very rapid recovery. Two years later we can say that we can highly recommend him.

Dr Jiranek did a decompression on my then husband. When Brad had to actually have the hip surgery he was in N.C. Dr there said it is the best work the had ever seen. He is kind, treats ppl with respect, his sense of humor, makes you feel at ease through the whole process. If anyone asks me I always recommend him. After all the DR's I have seen and my ex Brad has seen we both still recommend him in the most highest!! Best Dr I've ever met.

Dr. Jiranek is the BEST. He made certain I was prepared for surgery and that I was not going to have the problems I had previously encountered with another surgeon and hospital. He takes the time with his patients and is aware of their individual needs. He is the ideal surgeon to handle complicated situations.

Very friendly, courteous and professional. I got an intelligent and insightful opinion from him that I believe was in my best interest. I found Dr. Jiranec to be personable yet totally focused. The new facility on West Broad just west of Short Pump Mall is very nice, new and modern. My appointment went on schedule including x-rays within the department. Richmond is fortunate to have doctors of this quality and expertise. Would highly recommend.

Dr. Jeranek is the best in Orthopedic knee replacements. Yes, it takes time to get in to see him . . . what would you expect of the best. Yes, once you're there, there's a wait for him to see you . . . that's because he doesn't rush his patients through. However, if you want the best, the most thorough, the right assessment, and an accurate treatment plan . . . Dr. Jiranek is the Doctor for you.

Dr. Jiranek correctly diagnosed how my knees were primarily deteriorated on the medial side and recommended partial replacement for both knees. The result was outstanding. I have a full range of motion, rehab was rapid and two years later I have no pain or other problems. For one who was a semi-invalid before surgery and now can do challenging hikes, I could not be happier!

Dr Jiranek was great- I did have to wait to see him but much was accomplished with him for my ongoing knee problem. I am doing great today and finally have answers to questions that have not been answered for several years.

He was very late seeing me, rude, cussed at me, yelled at me and was inconsiderate and unprofessional. My hip is already necrotic and extremely painful, but he did not discuss the changes in my hip from my new x-rays with me. It took me almost a year to get in to see him and it was a waste of my time. He blew me off. I thought I was seeing a very good, caring surgeon. From my first encounter with him it appears I was wrong.

Dissatisfied Patient in Richmond, VA – Apr 15, 2016
×Post a ResponseAre you Dr. Jiranek?
First, my appointment to see Dr. Jiranek was more than a month out (he came highly recommended). When I arrived, I waited for about 2 1/2 hours to see him! The time frame between my appointment time and when I left the facility was 4 HOURS!!! And I had to come back the next morning because the x-ray technician had left for the day! Last, going to him did not result in much-needed pain relief.
