Very expensive sick visit
I went for a visit with doctor Hein after being sick with what I believed to be a sinus infection for 7 days. When I got there my lungs were clear and I had no fever. He said it was probably viral but he wanted to do a COVID/FLU/RSV test. I expressed that I did not feel it was necessary seeing as I had already been sick for 7 days plus that I would be responsible for 100% of the cost. I was told he felt I needed it. I wish I would have been a better advocate for myself. I now have a $287 lab bill not including the cost of the office visit. It was my first time seeing him and I thought he had a great bedside manner but I hope he listens to patients a little more when deciding what tests are truly necessary... I could have got a covid test for free from any pharmacy and if it was the flu there would have been no way of treating it 7 days in.

DON'T GO to Dr Hein unless you want a great doctor
This guy actually listens and wants YOU to be involved in your care as much as him. Not a pill pusher, but a find the root cause kind of doctor. Glad to have finally found someone in the game for the right reasons. He truly cares.
