He probably saved my life
My situation (June, 1999): I was admitted to the hospital (Penrose-St. Francis Hosp. in Colorado Springs) in response to my deteriorating condition stemming from ulcerative colitis - i.e., *chronic* inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). Dr. Fry inserted, without incident, a central venous catheter to facilitate an intravenous medication protocol. My ulcerative colitis did not respond to IV medication. Based on my confidence in his ability, I requested Dr. Fry perform the then recommended surgical procedure: a colectomy with ileostomy. The surgery was successful. During my stay as an inpatient, Dr. Fry's post surgery follow up visits were cordial and always friendly. I looked forward to those visits and the opportunity to troll his dry sense of humor. Because of the extensive involvement of progressive ulcerations in my large intestine, I am certain Dr. Fry's expert surgical skill obviated any chance of me having colon cancer later. In other words, I believe he probably saved my life!

Dr. Fry is a Monster
Dr. Fry has a highly inflated ego and sense of superiority, no empathy for patients or family, and is a bully to patients and staff alike. In 2019 I had a climbing fall and was taken to Good Sam where Fry was head of trauma surgery. I had broke both feet, arm, pelvis, 10 ribs, sternum, and my L3 vertebrae was crushed. Fry's very, very, first words to my wife was "he probably won't ever walk again". I was in such pain I was hallucinating, but only when Fry came by with other doctors who were clearly shocked at my writhing pain did he consent to treat the pain. I woke up more than once with Fry actually shouting at me. The staff told me I was a hero because I refused to remain intubated between surgeries 20 hours apart, and no one talks back to Fry. All scars from 8 surgeries have faded nicely except for the ragged scar across my stomach, Fry's only surgery. Other surgeons have been mystified why he damaged my stomach in this way. I have only 1000 char here, wish I had more.
