Dr. Boedefeld is a very personable man with excellent people skills. Luckily for me, his surgical skills are just as good. I dreaded this CABG surgery because of my observations of post-operative suffering experienced by both of my parents and some other relatives in the past. To my surprise, my post-operative pain was not only bearable but easily manageable. His staff is very helpful and provided good educational materials.

It is so great to see such a wonderful doctor that is doing what he loves. He was among the doctors that saved my life when I was only 12 when he was at UAB. I had a Wilms tumor (cancer) on my kidneys. Thank you Dr. Boedefeld!

I chose Dr Bodefeld for valve replacement surgery because my brother had used him for by-pass surgery. He did a great with my surgery. When I had to have the surgery a second time in a couple of month's time, Dr. Boedefeld put me at ease. Doing the surgeries so close together has it's risks. Dr. Boedefeld performed the surgery flawlessly and I would use him again if needed.

Dr. Boedefeld and his staff provide top notch care and compassion which give the patient such as myself the best overall experience. I had a failing aortic valve by Dr. Boedefeld and did a lot of reading before choosing him. He performed the operation flawlessly, and when I developed acute respiratory distress syndrome (a dangerous side effect of the surgery) Dr. Boedefeld and team once again stepped in and saved my life. I recommend Dr. Boedefeld to anyone considering valve replacement.
