Bedside manner was horrifying
Using terminology and acting in a manner that made me so uncomfortable I had to leave before getting any help. 0 stars if I could.

Dr Bludworth ran numerous tests to sort out my mysterious symptoms and made several recommendations. His manner was friendly and patient and he is a good communicator. I wish he could be my regular doctor!

Told me there was no urgency for my visit even after telling him I had recurring infections of this nature that could develop into pelvic inflammatory disease if not treated. He rufused to do treatment and argued with me that I should go somewhere else without having done any work on me at all. Do not trust your loved ones in his care. He doesn’t care about people, and I can’t see why he ever became a doctor. I will be filing a suit against him. He needs to have his license removed.

Inept in the treatment of a fairly minor laceration 1/2" below the eyebrow. At the ER, Dr. Bludworth said he'd be using glue to close the wound. I requested stitches. He was adamant. (I'd had good results with facial stitches before.) While glueing me, he got his fingers stuck to my eyebrow, painfully yanking himself free. When he was done I saw the cut was not closed. I asked him to remove the glue and stitch it. He would not. 8 days later another ER doc put 4 stitches where the glue had been.

I was sent to the ER after an urgent care facility ruled out many diagnoses (including mono, strep, and the flu) and thought I may have sepsis based on my vital signs. Dr. Bludworth quickly ran labs and determined I did indeed have a strain of the flu that the urgent care flu test did not detect. I had no idea that a flu test could be false! Dr. Bludworth was efficient in relaying important information and easing my worries. He was easygoing and had good bedside manner.

An absolutely bizarre character. I was brought in having a heart attack, I later found out. He did not run troponin or CPK. He wrote a series of disparaging comments about me in all caps. He turned me out of the ER without any treatment at all. His notes said he relied on an informant but I had no friend or relative with me. When I got to another hospital, the attending physician asked "What third world hospital couldn't diagnose your heart attack?" I answered "South Austin."

I came to the ER with severe chest pain, all over my chest. It turned out that I had nearly 100% blockages in two coronary arteries AND an aneurysm in my right coronary artery, but Dr. Bludworth opined that if I didn't have left-sided pain or arm pain I must be malingering. I nearly died before I got into a different ER, and it took six surgical procedures to repair the vascular damage. Bludworth wrote disparaging comments in all caps and sent them to Social Security.

I went to the emergency room with what we thought was an appendicitis issue. Dr. Bludworth ran some tests and discovered something slightly more serious that was beyond the scope of the Heart Hospital ER. He went the distance to find a physician on call who could determine the next steps and helped make it happen. He was thoughtful, kind, and patient.
