Gratitude for Dr. King
After my initial consultation with Dr. King regarding my meningioma, I knew that this was the surgeon I would want to be 'in the trenches with.' His expertise speaks for itself. But his kindness, calm demeanor and empathy were also of such reassurance to me. Looking back-from the initial consultation to post surgery recovery Dr. King and his team have been amazing. His skill, patience and encouragement made a challenging time that much easier. I highly recommend Dr. King to anyone in need of a brilliant and compassionate neurosurgeon,

Expertise and Compassion Beyond Compare
When we unexpectedly discovered that my husband’s ongoing symptoms were due to a tumor found on a CT scan and later confirmed by an MRI, our primary doctor, Dr. Maw Maw, immediately referred us to Dr. Wesley King, saying she wouldn’t trust anyone else with a case like this. We are profoundly grateful for that recommendation. From the very first contact, Dr. King was personable and proactive, reaching out with a direct call that conveyed his genuine care and commitment. He treated us with warmth and respect, making us feel like valued individuals rather than just another case.Dr. King acted quickly to coordinate with all necessary specialists, who were equally professional and attentive, keeping us informed every step of the way. His bedside manner is outstanding, and he took the time to address all of our questions and concerns with compassion. Dr. King has truly been a blessing during this challenging journey and continues to support us with post-surgery follow-up. When it comes to

Call Dr. King (and thank me later!)
I feel truly fortunate to have found my way to Dr. King and his wonderful staff! After struggling with an unfortunate condition called trigeminal neuralgia for almost a year, my pain management doctor suggested it might be time to consider neurosurgery and referred me to Dr. King. From my initial phone call to my post-op care, Dr. King and his staff put me at ease, patiently answered my seemingly endless questions, and helped me remember to laugh along the way. The idea of brain surgery was terrifying to me, but I went into that operating room confident that I was in the very best hands, and the results have been nothing short of amazing! Expect to be treated with kindness, compassion and the utmost respect when you work with Dr. King, and know that you have the best medical team in your corner! Hopefully I'll never need neurosurgery again in my lifetime, but if I do, you can bet I'll choose Dr. King!

The Nation’s Best Neurosurgeon
Dr. King is the nation's best neurosurgeon, hands down. He saved my life. You won't find a more skilled and brilliant brain doctor. I highly, HIGHLY, recommend him! My case was extremely complex. In 2019, I had a meningioma brain tumor removed by a doctor in New York City. Unfortunately, that surgery caused a massive cranial cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) leak and a defect in my brain. I had multiple additional surgeries to repair the leak, but to no avail. By late 2023, I was so sick that I couldn’t work and could barely function. I felt like I was dying. Thankfully, I then met Dr. King. He was the first doctor who understood the complexity of what was going on with my brain and how to fix what was wrong. In January 2024, along with his colleague Dr. William H. Slattery, Dr. King repaired my CSF leak at Cedars Sinai in Los Angeles. There were no complications and within two weeks, I had no pain and felt better than I had in years! (His office staff were also all very responsive and kind.)

I originally connected with Dr. King 32 years ago when, as a resident at UCLA, he assisted on my surgery for syringomyelia. I was lucky enough to reconnect with him recently when other highly skilled doctors were having difficulty diagnosing the cause of my hand and leg weakness as well as severe headaches and neck pain. Dr. King diagnosed me with a rare and difficult to diagnose condition called Chiari type 0 malformation (sometimes referred to as posterior fossa syndrome) and a tethered brain stem. He performed a decompression and detehering surgery three weeks ago. I have regained all the strength in my hands and legs and no longer get the head and neck pain. Dr. King has given me my life back. Besides being an incredibly bright and skilled surgeon Dr. King is equally kind and compassionate. He was incredibly generous with his time. He is quick to return calls and his office staff (Jelisha and Cathy) are very friendly and responsive. I am lucky to have reconnected with him!

I would give Dr. King a 10+ stars rating.
I am so grateful that I was referred to Dr. Wesley King 8 years ago, after suffering years of pain, increased meds and other treatments. I had MVD surgery which took away the pain on my right side of my face. Fast forward to 2023. The nerve pain came back but this time on the left side. I called Dr. King’s office and left a message on a Friday to explain that I was again having pain. Imagine my surprise when Dr. King called me the next day (a Saturday) to say he was very concerned and wanted to discuss what was going on. I sent a message to my original doctor who is now at the Orofacial Pain Program at UCLA to ask if he would still recommend Dr. King. His response was “he is still our go to surgeon, the very best” During the meeting with Dr. King we decided that MVD surgery would still be the best option. I am again pain free thanks to Dr. King. Dr. King is very professional, kind, caring and extremely knowledgeable of Trigenimal Neuralgia.

Dr. King is incredible!
I was diagnosed with meningioma and was referred to Dr. King by my primary care doctor. The moment I spoke with Dr. King, I knew I was in excellent hands. Dr. King is a warm, kind, and extremely talented doctor who I can't recommend enough. I felt quickly at ease during one of the scariest and surprising times of my adult life with a major surgery in the books for me. Look no further if you are in need of brain surgery. He is the absolute A Team. His surgical coordinator Susie is also fantastic. She made me feel comfortable reaching out with all my questions at any time, and made me feel as though I was the only patient around (which I know was not the case). My surgery went really well and the follow up and care from Dr. King made me feel so looked after and cared for. He's simply the best and I am beyond grateful to be a patient of his

I was diagnosed with Trigeminal Neuralgia in the summer of 2019, and I was referred to Dr. King for MVD surgery by both the UCLA Orofacial Pain Clinic and my neurologist. I met with Dr. King and immediately felt comfortable and put at ease with his professionalism and knowledge of my condition. He said he was available for any questions and to call him if I needed anything. His office manager, Susie, was also the best, she helped with scheduling and always returned my calls quickly to answer all of my questions. My MVD surgery went extremely well, and Dr. King made me feel like I was in very good hands. He checked on me after my surgery to make sure I was feeling okay and healing well. I highly recommend Dr. King, I am so happy with the care I received.

Dr. King is the most compassionate doctor. He listens and explains in depth. My first visit he spent over an hour with me to answer all questions and concerns. He removed a pituitary tumor and I’m 5 weeks post op. Dr.King has called me several times to follow up with me and communicated with my general practitioner. To have a doctor who works as a team is very comforting when you are going through medical issues. I highly recommend Dr. King. He is experienced, compassionate, kind and has an excellent bedside manner.

I had a transnasal endoscopic excision of the pituitary tumor, to remove a TSH secreting tumor on Feb 2021, and it went incredibly smoothly. Dr. King was able to remove the tumor without puncturing my meninges, or harming any other structures. I only needed to stay in the hospital for 1 day, and was actually able to attend my mothers funeral 2 days after the surgery. The endocrinologist warned me that I may have some serious hormonal shifts for at least 3 months after the surgery, due to the shock to my pituitary. However, my hormones have actually been normal since the surgery, which I believe is due to Dr. King's level of skill.

After I endured a series of grueling tests, Dr. King did not bother to call about the findings. When, after weeks, I called him about the results, he was curt and dismissive and hung up on me. Thankfully another doctor explained that Dr. King was not a spine specialist and wasn't able to see the minute signs this new doctor was able to see. Would have been kind if Dr. King had told me I did not fall under his specialty and given me a referral.

Dr. King is the best. He took his time to explain the operation. I never felt rushed and he spent so much time answering questions and making sure I was comfortable with the procedure. He came to see me so much in the hospital and his follow up was like nothing I have ever experienced. I highly recommend him!

I wished I had all the same answers as up above. After recent research I’ve noticed I wasn’t given info about before during or after surgery. They don’t accept insurances including PPO’s. But an office member was in my room for my consultation with a credit card pad to quickly take my large consultation fee. Staff blamed each other for not requesting more than one day hospital stay after brain surgery. I actually had to be seen by my own physician to rehydrate me, within 4 days.

Dr. King was the second neurosurgeon I interviewed about my tumor. He was so informative, giving me the good and the possible bad, that deciding to have him as my surgeon was easy. The week before my surgery, Dr. King had me come in for another appointment. He was exactly on time ( a first experience for me) and we went through the procedure. The day of the surgery, he met me in the lobby area at 6 AM. The surgery went perfectly as planned and I was discharged from Cedars Sinai Medical Center
