Worst Experience Ever
Dr. Arlein was rude at pre-op visit. Running hours behind day of surgery. Doctor came in agitated &upset. I smelled alcohol on him, then thought 'Is it mouthwash?' Finally in OR & anesthesia starting to work when phone rang. I was taken back to pre-op room & overheard nurses say 'surgery before mine was a flop,Dr.A has to re-open her arm. It has no feeling.' Dr. A said my fistula surgery was success, had me come in for ultra sound a few days later. Tech seemed to have impossible time finding pulse she was looking for. Dr.Arlein himself read ultrasound results and gave himself a glowing review! At Mayo clinic a bit later I was asked when fistula clotted off. I didn't know it had! They said I should have been checking it for pulse daily. I HAD NEVER BEEN INSTRUCTED TO DO SO BY Dr. ARLEIN. No wonder, as I suspect, it never worked & that's why I wasn't told to check it? Mayo surgeons also questioned why fistula was attempted, as my veins were too narrow. Bad judgement, bad surgery!

I don't typically submit negative reviews; however, this had to be the worse experience in healthcare that I have ever had. Dr. Arlein spent literally (maybe) 2 minutes with me for a consultation visit. He acted as though I had walked in off the streets without an appointment and made me feel as though I was taking up his air space. He simply told me to go elsewhere for my symptoms because he "thinks" the ER CT scan dye timing is what caused a negative result of occluded arteries. He had his own office conduct an arterial ultrasound the day before which he did not review before or during my visit - which upon review by another vascular surgeon, ultimately provided the same conclusion as the ER CT. Later the office visit notes displayed on my patient portal and showed he provided me with information and patient education that was NOT discussed at all.

“GotVeins” License plate should have tipped me off. THREE separate surgical procedures, in THREE Consecutive YEARS. My condition is worse now than when I first visited this Man. After my Second surgery and conditions Returned Eight months later “like clockwork” he announced “You’re now my First Three Time Patient” but we’ll get in there and Really get those Closed Off??. 7-8 months later, SAME THING!! Leg Swollen, Painful to Stand/Walk. Completely frustrated, and at myself too..for believing this guy! I returned to Valley Med. Center in Wa State! “Announced myself” and you could hear a pin drop from the Staff. Talk about Strange. Then, nervously a woman at the Desk tells me Dr. Arlein Left Valley? and left the State. WHAT!!!? If I knew then what I know Now... He’d have been Taken to Court AND SUED!! My leg is Scared All Over, Swollen, Level 7-8 PAIN, and he leaves the State. I wonder why? Surely I’m not the Only one!! Don’t let this man touch your Legs. Or Anything for that matter.

Dr. Arlein and his staff have been excellent. They’ve gotten back to me each time they said they would. Dr. Arlein explains things in a realistic and professional manner but also in a way that someone not in the medical profession can understand. After two years and three doctors, I’m excited to finally be getting an ongoing vascular issue in my legs corrected.

Don’t waste your time/money going to this guy. He does not take the time to listen to you. I have had the worst experience with St Al’s.
