Dr. Wayne Chan, MD

Went for a follow-up visit for both a shoulder issue and an elbow issue. He couldn't locate the MRI of my shoulder that I had months prior, so he rudely refused to address my concerns. He wouldn't 'waste his time' (his words) by trying to find access to the MRI images while I was there. He wanted to just walk out and cancel the appt (that was currently happening), with no regard for the fact that I drove 2 hours to be there & waited to be seen for 45 mins. When I discussed my ongoing elbow issues he was dismissive, condescending & sarcastic. He said there's nothing else to do, even though he had previously given me treatment options. He belittled me and blamed my pain on me, claiming he has the same issues, but worse, and he 'just does his exercises and he's fine.' I've never cried in a doctor's office until this visit. He refused to listen and was just plain MEAN about it all, like I was wasting his time and making things up. It was clear he just wanted me to go away.

Dr Chan was personable, thorough, patient and competent. There was no rushing us out the door; he listened well, answered all of our questions, and did not push a surgical option, instead letting us know that surgery would be a 50-50 proposition. Left with a script for PT; would not hesitate to see him again for shoulder issues.

I had a fractured humerus after a horse riding accident in 2018. I had never had anesthesia or surgery, so I was a nervous wreck. Dr. Chan was very compassionate, and explained everything to my husband and I. My surgery went very well, and I have full range of motion in my arm again.

Boring.

Came home and cried. Apparently long term chronic pain just my imagination

Great visit with Dr. Chan. He saw our daughter for a broken elbow and was kind, patient and took the time to confer with his colleague who is a pediatric specialist during our appointment. He put her at ease, answered all of our questions and didn’t rush us at all. We are particular about who cares for our children and I would go back to Dr. Chan without hesitation!

Saw him in Worcester. When he determined surgery was not necessary for my shoulder, he was hurried, underexplanatory, condescending, and then misdiagnosed the cause of my symptoms.
