I am a current patient (for about 10 years), and I cannot attest to the traits and criticisms found in the other reviews. Dr. K. is polite, albeit, with a very dry personality. My visits with him are not therapeutic. We go through the motions, but, in all honesty, he's just a necessary step in the overly complicated process of obtaining prescriptions for my ADHD.

Please, please DO NOT see Dr Kammerer. He is honestly the worst psychiatrist that I have ever seen. He is rude, impatient, and argumentative. Unfortunately he has almost a cruel demeanor and is impatient with patient concerns. I really DREADED seeing him and finally found someone INFINITELY better. Again, you can definitely find someone MUCH better than Dr K, so please keep looking and get a referral from someone you trust. I REALLY wish I had read all of the negative reviews of his prior to seeing him and then decided NOT to see him at all. I wish I could give him NEGATIVE stars, he is THAT BAD.

While I wasn’t a huge fan of Dr. kammerer at first, after several years of working with him he has grown on me. He worked with me in finding the right medication combination for my various mental health challenges including anxiety, depression, and rage stemming from my bpd. He never gave up on me, even when working with me could be challenging at times. I recommend him And find him very competent and knowledgeable.

At age 60, after years of depression, I've been diagnosed with bipolar II. Yikes. I knew something wasn't right, but this? My therapist recommended Dr. Kammerer. He wasn't accepting new patients, but he made an exception for me at my therapists request. And am I glad he did. I have seen him twice. He does take lots of notes (what if he didn't?) and asks lots of questions regarding timeline; when did this medication start, how long did the episode last, how did you feel then, etc. He is reserved and soft-spoken but friendly and professional. My therapist said he is excellent with medications and he listened carefully to my expectations of medication(s) before prescribing. Things are finally looking up (but not too up!) I would completely recommend him.

I would never subject them to the emotional and psychological abuse he has put me through during our three or longer years of "treatment." I suffer from schizophrenia, anxiety and panic disorders, and ptsd. Through the past year, I had trouble with substance abuse. As of now, I'm 3 months sober. This was not due to him. My father daily oversaw me to make sure it stopped. Dr. K, on the other hand, relentlessly calls me an addict. He has not treated any other issue I bring up.
