Bad Prolotherapy Injections
Saw Grotes Prolotherapy office for torn miniscus. He told me I needed knee and back injections. My back hurt because of the miniscus and I asked him if it was necessary and if it would slow down knee healing. He said no but it would cost double if I came back at a later date for back injections. I could save money doing it now. I made a very bad decision and did both. It ended up knee was fine after injections buy my back was another story. Extreme pain requiring 7 months in Physical Therapy and pain medecine. Ended up going to Orthopedic Surgeon. (FYI prolotherapy is cash only not covered by insurance)

Time management does not exist. Expect to wait beyond your appointment. I found the wait irritating but well worth the time. Nursing and front office staff are very competent & pleasant. Dr. Grote is somewhat unconventional but VERY thorough. He has a terrific demeanor & is a great diagnostician. He asks many questions, takes copious notes and listens to everything you have to say. He leaves no stone unturned. Everything matters to him. Every visit feels like the first time we meet. Takes nothing for granted. Glad I was referred to him. He was my last resort for my condition. He nailed the issue and plotted a course of treatment that is helping. I have suffered since 2009 and am finally feeling relief. Highly recommend!

Dr. Grote is one of the best internal medicine doctors in Northern, NJ and the western PA area. The care he has for his patients and their health is unmatched. Many doctors come in and talk to you for five minutes and then send you on your way. Dr. Grote will talk to you and try to get to the root cause of your problems instead of treating symptoms. This may mean longer wait times but I am willing to sacrifice time for my health and longevity.
