Professional, Knowledgeable, Empathetic
I saw Dr Walter Damper in September of 2022. I was searching for a new Pain Management doctor for a chronic and incurable disease. In the last five years I have had 22 surgical procedures, most on my spine. And also have Titanium plates in my neck from neuro-surgery. Dr DAMPER gave me HOPE for the first time in years. In the previous five years, my pain mgt doctor never mentioned “sacroiliac.” The very next week Dr Damper injected my sacroiliac area with Corticosteroid shorts. In one office visit and cursory exam, he diagnosed the source of my primary pain at the time. Dr Walter C. Damper literally gave me my life back. Previously I could only stand for five minutes. Now I am able to see friends and go out with my husband for brief periods. Now, if I could just find out where Dr Damper is practicing today!

Dr Damper has been treating me for long term chronic knee pain associated with a joint replacement, as well as lower back pain. I am so glad my surgeon recommended him. He is AMAZING! Kind, caring, listens to me & makes me a partner in my own healthcare. I would recommend him to anyone having pain.

I had been going to Dr. Damper in Tucson for several years when he moved to Phoenix. I wasn't able to go see him because his new practice didn't take my insurance. I changed insurance this year so I could go see him. He is the kindest, most thoughtful, caring and KNOWLEDGEABLE doctor I have EVER met. It's so nice to be able to go to him again.

I have been extremely satisfied with Dr. Damper. I have two herniated discs - one in my low back and one in my neck. Dr. Damper was able to get me in quickly, to explain all of my treatment options, and to recommend non-surgical options (I wanted to avoid surgery) and physical therapy. He recommended injections as a starting point (I was in pretty bad shape) which provided some pretty immediate relief. He was diligent in following up with me and discussing my symptoms, progress, etc.

Dr. Damper is the only doctor I have ever seen who understood my pain and knew how to give me relief. He takes time to fully explain the problem and how he will treat it. I have disc and hip problems and he has helped me get back to a close to normal lifestyle. If you are suffering from pain and are looking for a doctor who is compassionate, caring and gifted you must see Dr Damper. I wish all of my doctors were like Dr. Damper - he's the very best.

Dr. Damper is the best, most caring doctor I have dealt with in years. He left the Tucson area, but I will drive 2 hours to have him do my injections. He was most kind and truly interested in making me the best I can be. I wish he were still in Oro Valley. I have tried another doctor here in Tucson, and it was one of the worst doctor's visit I've ever had. Dr. Damper, on the other hand, had a great bedside manner and was so kind.

I had three injections to my lower back, and I was in and out of the injection suite in about 5 minutes. The terrible sciatic pain has not returned, and that was a year ago. I was sad that he left TOI, as I wanted to refer friends to him.
