Dr. Walker Lyerly IV, MD

What Dr. Lyerly has done for my son is nothing short of amazing. We went from a very scary time to a much more normal life in less than a year because of Dr. Lyerly's care. And, ongoing care has been exceptional - he was there to talk through the emergencies. He monitored my son's reaction to medication closely and he is now productive and not living like a zombie on meds. In my opinion, Dr. Lyerly is an outstanding doctor that highly recommend!

Have seen him for about a decade on and off. Always felt respected and he was very knowledgeable about his diagnosis.

Interestingly this website will not accept a review that contains my honest opinion although I used no aggressive language, curse words, slurs or slander. So I've condensed my review to this: Dr. Lyerly is the worst we have ever seen. Stay away.

I was Dr. lyerlys patient for a few months, and I would not recommend him if you are a woman. He wasn’t necessarily creepy outright, but just sexist enough where I felt dismissed and not taken seriously. He didn’t listen to me or respect my needs adequately. I have anxiety, Bipolar, and psychosis, and he was not great at treating those without overmedicating me and I felt like I lost myself. The nurse practitioner who treated me for while when he out was sweet, but condescending to me and offensive to my illnesses. The communication between her and Dr. Lyerly was disorganized and inadequate and resulted in me getting over prescribed. I’m not sure how much being female effected my experience in his practice, so maybe it’s okay to go here if you are male, but definitely would not recommend if you are female.

Dishonest practice and they charge your card deliberately, without providing receipts for services.. Good luck getting your money back.. They do not file claims with any insurance companies, so you have to do it yourself. He charged us 175$ for filling out 1 form without even seeing the patient! Steer clear of this dishonest practice..

My older brother is a former patient of Dr. Lyerly. He kept prescribing my older brother medication that wasn't needed. He didn't know my older brother's needs at all!

He is a brilliant, insightful, caring, empathetic, compassionate doctor. He has helped me with the extremely difficult problems that I face as a person with schizoid, Bipolar Type 1 disorder and Borderline Personality Disorder. He is a an exemplary doctor. I have seen 8 psychiatrists before him. He is absolutely the most helpful, caring doctors I have ever met.

Great doctor. Has been treating my son for depression for several months. Always available to help out.

Great doctor, listens and asks thoughtful questions. I have seen several other doctors and no one made me feel as comfortable or invested. He doesn't speak to you like just another patient and offers meaningful questions/discussions. I would highly recommend him to anyone. I would never consider going to see anyone else.

Absolutely the worst doctor I have ever been to. Completely misdiagnosed my doctor and made a bad situation 100% worse. Cornered her with his questions and even though she got through their meeting, she broke down in tears as soon as we got home. Was not considerate or compassionate at all. One of the worst experiences I have ever had with a psychiatrist. Do not go to him.
