Dr. Wai Ma, MD

Dr. Ma has the MOST Rudest Bedside Manners I have ever come into contact with. She is ALWAYS Late, rushes into the room, with an arrogant and nasty attitude. She is downright Pampas and Rude! God forbid I might have asked her a question, that I maybe asked at our initial meeting before surgery, and she jumped at me with a raised voice and said 'I ALREADY TOLD YOU THAT, WHAT PART OF THAT DID YOU NOT UNDERSTAND'. Another horrible charming characteristic she has is that she is ALWAY late -- so just know you will have anywhere from 1-2 hour wait after your appointment time until you get to see this PRIMA DONNA of a so-called physician.Coldest and Rudest Doctor EVER! I'm sorry to be so harsh -- but patients need to be aware of her rude bedside manners - where she makes you feel like your an ignorant piece of dirt -- even if you have a Ph.D. like myself. The WORST !

This is wurst experience ever. I called the office to made appointment. Victoria answered and asked me the details about me and asked if I ever been to any other doctor. I responded yes then she said that Dr. I responded yes that then she said that Dr. cannot cannot receive me. I ask why. She said insurance wouldn’t cover it. I informed her that I have brand new insurance and they will cover it 100% percent. She said no no you have to go to your previous doctor. I told her that my new insurance doesn’t cover that doctor then she said that I have to go to some other doctor that office don’t wanna receive me. I told her I have I have referrals and everything for that office. She said no matter they don’t wanna see me. I ask her for her name she said just name she she said I don’t need her last name because I wanna make complaint about this then she’ll for me to I spoke with her manager, I spoke with Maria the manager, then she change the story entirely. Maria said that office do not receive the patients who been to the other doctors not because of insurance, but because that’s their internal policy. I asked her how is that even possible. And I ask her why first time I get different information from Victoria. She said that Victoria it’s a new in the office, very new in the office and she don’t know. After more questions that Maria couldn’t give streight answer she hung up. This practice should be questioned, because they don’t follow basic medical roles. And would be ashamed that somebody put the Hippocrates oath and reject patience because they want to, not because they are over occupied. I will report this to higher instances and hopefully will change come.

It's a terrible experience, these people allow themselves to raise their voices against patients. Very rude and unprofessional. I do not recommend to anyone...

Dr. Ma is one of the most thorough doctors that I’ve ever had. She’s a great doctor and person! Love her.

I’m sorry for the harshness, but I have to be honest…. Dr. Ma and their staff DO NOT CARE. Go to a physician that actually cares about their patient. The rudeness starts from the receptionist and goes all the way through the staff to Dr. Ma. I really don’t mean to be mean, but basic customer service is nonexistent in that office. I’ve caught them in a few lies so beware.

Very rude and unprofessional staff. All goes well until you need something. Dr. Ma or her staff will never help or assist in helping you resolve an issue. Appointment, procedure, then on to the next is how they operate.

I had a 6am appointment for a Colonoscopy with Dr. Wai Li Ma and arrived on time. I was prepped for my procedure and 2 hours later she still had not arrived. The office staff called her but she did not answer or return their calls. When I stated I think I should leave, they encouraged me and stated this happens quite frequently. I am appalled that a Doctor can get away with this. I would never go to her again nor would I recommend her to anyone. She wasted my time and made me go through hours the evening before of uncomfortable prep time. The office staff was nice and kind and professional.

Excellent physician-on time, thorough and caring

I was in Dr Ma office today (8-28-18). I was extremely happy & satisfied with all the wonderful staff & Dr Ma. Everyone was Very cordial and polite. That always makes an ill person comfortable. Thank you Tyra for assisting me with my appointment. Thank you all.

Great, very thorough doctor. However, she is ALWAYS running late, even at 7 am when you ate the first patient!

I had a horrible experience at GI Excellence. It is so hard to make an appointment.

I have been with Dr. Ma for over 5 years and I find her so knowledgeable. She is the doctor to see if you have gastroenterology problems.

Front office staff friendly but doctor and medical assistant are borderline rude. Competence-seems fair. Not a big fan of this practice.

Do not come here if you need intermittent fmla......such a stressful experience....

I have never had a bad experience with Dr. Ma or her office. I would recommend her to anyone that needs a GI doctor. Her staff has always been nice and helpful. Dr. Ma takes the time to go over all results and does not rush your appointment, she takes the time that is needed....

I have been a patient of Dr. Ma's for 10 years. She has shown herself to be a thorough, knowledgeable and caring doctor. She is able to explain her diagnosis in understandable terms; and she has been willing to take the necessary time to answer my questions, both pre and post-op.

I would never recommend this doctor. Not only is her beside manner questionable but her staff is horrible. When you aren't feeling good, you are looking for an office that lends support, not one that badgers you. This is definitely not the place to go if you are looking for help.

Please beware if you're making you 1st appt. Their staff takes all the insurance information but will not tell you if they accept it or not until you are done with 1st appointment and in process of scheduling your followup. This is when they tell you that they don't accept your insurance but you have to pay for your visit. Now you have to look for another Dr. and go through the same process. What upsets me is they don't really care if they wasted your time long as they get paid.

My husband called to schedule an appointment and a very rude receptionist Karen answered the phone. She rushed him off the phone and hung up on him when he was asking questions regarding a potential appointment. I then called back and proceeded to ask questions, she gave answers that made no sense and could not explain thoroughly the doctors policy regarding the acceptance of new patients. Karen needs to re-evaluate her attitude and demeanor on the phone as it is a reflection of the doctor.
