Dr. Waheeda Mithani, MD

I was told by multiple physicians that i would NEED surgery to fix my issue. It was not elective. It was necessary. My quality of life has been severely impacted due to my issue. It is my issue that has contributed to significant weight gain that is preventing me from getting surgery to correct it. Today I was told it is because I'm obese that i have my issues. This is wrong. My issues were caused by a surgical procedure that did not heal correctly, and was exacerbated by my heavy activity at work. (continuous lifting of 80lbs and more daily, as well as other strenuous activities) also when given a physical exam, cursory at best, I was told my abdomen is weak and while that may be, the examiner was nowhere near the actual hernias. They are upper abdominal not lower. I felt dismissed and judged and left extremely angry. I will not be returning. Before these issues i could do many things. Kept my weight stable too. Now I struggle to do anything.

I had surgery done. Later had complications but never heard from her again after she refer me to someone else. Never called to check on me while I was in hospital in Port Arthur bad bedside manner. I been going threw this since December 18th,2020 it almost August 2021 still can not return to work

Great Doctor and a terrific staff

Dr. Mithani managed my emergency case of a ruptured colon. She was very professional and yet compassionate and caring toward my family and myself. During post-op visits she was very understanding of the issues I was experiencing. Dr's office team were very empathetic and helpful at all times. I went to Dr. Mithani in November 2017 weighing 220lbs.. I chose to do the weight loss surgery gastric sleeve because I didn't want to be diabetic. She gave me tips to lose some weight before the surgery and also recipes from her dietitian in the office. Today I am 85 pounds lighter.. From a size 20 to a size 4.. Dr. Mithani saved my life and her staff is excellent.. I highly recommend her to anyone that is looking to lose weight and get your sexy back.
