Not a great listener.
I would not recommend Dr. Gallahan to anyone as he did not listen or try to explain issues concerning my mother’s stomach. She has been suffering for months and he just keeps changing her meds. He seems very uncertain and unconcerned about her health. She had to initiate an appointment with another specialist. He maybe knowledgeable but he needs to brush up on his bedside manner.

I entered Johnston Willis with jaundice and later a tumor on my pancreas. Dr. Gallahan put a stent in my bile duct to alleviate the jaundice situation. He is a very skilled surgeon and as a professional he is evenly skilled with his communication to the patient. Dr. Gallahan is a mild mannered concerned patient oriented Doctor of the highest level. Go Hoos!

Dr. Gallahan was nice in preson. He listened well, but overall treated my condition as nonpriority after I had been suffering for months on end already. I have been looked at be a few other physicians who recommended an Endoscopy and Colonoscopy soon to determine the source of my abdominal pain. If that wasn't bad enough, trying to get ahold of Dr. Gallahan or his assistant proved to be nearly impossible. Apparently the office staff "screen" calls and choose whether or not to answer. I left message after message for days and no reply whatsoever. As a result, I don't feel comfortable putting my medical health in Dr. Gallahans hands and darn sure I won't put it in Richmond Gastroenterology Associates hands either. Find someone else is my recommendation.

Did not communicate to me that I had pre-cancerous growths. Spends a lot of time with patients and is nice but doesn't explain medical diagnosis or have clear plan of treatment.

At first I wasn’t certain about Dr. Gallahan. I’ve since changed my mind. I’ve been dealing with stomach issues for quite some time. I was truly frustrated. Dr. Gallahan took the time to call me after hours to check on me. He immediately had me scheduled for a diagnostic procedure. I was very impressed that he took the time to reach out to me and how fast he and staff worked to figure out what was going on. He showed a lot of compassion. I would recommend him.

All of my other doctors are at St Francis where I can view my results. Johnston Willis does not have that function and getting results took almost 3 weeks. Also the office was set up strangely and was confusing to me. The actual test went well and I was happy to remember no part of either test. I would recommend Dr Gallahan to anyone. Both he and his office assistant are easy to work with and I had a good rapport with both.
