Patient and thorough
Dr. Hollins was a traveling doctor serving my community of Ridgecrest until late 2023. She thoroughly listened and discussed with me my options for identifying the cause of my iron deficiency. With her guidance we ruled out causes through ultrasound and endometrial biopsies. She listened to me when I provided peer-reviewed evidence about a medication that reduces heavy menstrual bleeding. She is the first MD who has truly taken their time to listen and discuss my health with me. She even called me personally to inform me of the results of my biopsies. I’m 45 and I’ve had two kids.

I would leave less than 1 star if I was able. Dr. Hollins is acting as a Locum doctor in Norton, Virginia at my normal OB/GYN office. I had an appointment for a colposcopy (my 2nd) with her and my experience was nothing less than traumatizing. As a sexual assault and rape survivor, vaginal exams and procedures are already difficult for me. After an examination that used a non-sterile metal speculum that had been laying on a bare counter for an unknown amount of time, Dr. Hollins determined that I needed 4 cervical biopsies. She made 6 different cervical punches due to receiving inadequate tissue samples for 2 of them. She also did not close the speculum completely before attempting to remove it from my vaginal canal, and continued to remove it after closing it only slightly; it was not closed completely until it was fully removed. I was sobbing and writhing in pain during the entire procedure. I left my appointment feeling like I had been raped all over again.
