Dr. Kaplan has been a horrible doctor for my mother who has MS. My mother is 73 years old and Dr. Kaplan said she could not help her anymore and took her off her MS medicine. It has been a year and a half and my mother cannot walk anymore and her health has been failing since she met this doctor. Please make sure you do your homework when searching for a good doctor. She is not one of them. As a daughter, seeing my mother health start to fail, has been one of the hardest things to watch. This doctor needs to be brought up in front of the medical board. And should not be practicing but washing cars.

I waited five months to see Dr. Kaplan in the midst of experiencing the worst and only relapse with my MS. During that time I had to quit my job, stay in bed and have my groceries delivered (still doing that). I also purchased a mobility scooter, because I could no longer walk more than a few feet at a time. Dr. Kaplan ordered the usual MRI’s to be done, and then sent me to check for Muscle Diseases. As all Neurologists have done, she confirmed that I do indeed have MS…really?? She also told me that she could do nothing more for me because she can’t treat a disease she sees no progression in. No progression?? A person would need to have lost they’re sight and possibly other senses to not see how progressed I am. I have no sense of balance, I can’t walk far, due to severe fatigue and pain. I have constant muscle spasms in my neck and back, and the list goes on. I have lost all respect for Dr. Kaplan and will never return. I really lost an entire year with her, and have definitely gone up on the disability scale. She also comes across as cold, uncaring, unsympathetic and honestly…not able to think outside the box concerning this disease which I DO HAVE!

Super Disappointed
I saw Dr. Kaplan for years and she was great overall. Very knowledgable and good bedside manner. The one thing I can no longer stand behind concerns the ways in which she began to push certain medications on me over the past couple of years. In fact, the last two visits I would say that she postured herself as a bit of a bully towards me over this. While the issue is far more complex than there is space here, I would not recommend this kind of treatment for anyone who has to deal with MS.

I have been going to Dr. Kaplan ever since 2011 when she was recommended to me by an ER Dr. at LDS hospital . We spent a year ruling everything out before she finally found with out a doubt that I had M.S. I have been seeing her ever since and will always see her as long as needed. Dr. Kaplan and her whole staff are great to work with and compassionate to you needs. thank you Dr. and all your staff.

Dr. Kaplan was very thorough in her examination of my mother. I am surprised by the negative reviews concerning her bedside manner, she was very patient, took time to listen to our concerns, and was quite friendly. She reviewed in detail all previously completed diagnostic results and ordered additional testing in line with her hypothesized diagnosis for my mother. She seemed very knowledgeable in her area of expertise and took the time to consider and respond to all of our questions.

Dr, Kaplan came across as bored, unsympathetic, and even judgemental during my visit. While she did end up ordering the necessary testing given my symptoms, her demeanor and lack of bedside manner left me questioning whether she actually believed what I was saying and if she even cared about what I am going through.

Terrible bedside manner, comes across as judgmental and angry. Seemed more concerned that you will give her COVID than about your health. I went to her for a second opinion and she treated me awful. She read the reports of other doctors and seemed to mock me when I told her my symptoms. Being told you have a brain tumor is a hard thing to hear, you would think a neurologist would understand that and not make light of it. Clearly she does not see her patients as people. She was pretty crappy with her nurses too. Do yourself a favor and find someone who has empathy and compassion, this lady may be educated but there is more to a good doctor than that. Don't waste your time or money on her. TERRIBLE

My mother has been a patient for more than five years and I have been to every one of her appointments. I can tell you that Dr. Kaplan is an excellent doctor. She made a critical diagnosis that was missed by a prior neurologist--the diagnosis made a drastic improvement on my mom's condition. Over the years my mother has had a couple of events that required hospital stays. These events generate questions and every time we have called Dr. Kaplan for her opinion she has replied promptly and personally. She is sharp, thorough, and caring in her communications with my mother.

Avoid this provider. She has no interest in any other provider's test results, notes, imaging studies. She only uses her own information so unless you have the 'perfect' MRI images for your condition, look elsewhere.

Dr. Kaplin took a lot of time on my first visit and didn't ever push me to feel rushed for her next appointment. She personally communicates with me after each new treatment plan to see how I am doing. She is very thorough, compassionate & knowledgeable. Her staff is great too. They are so helpful and kind and they are always on top of everything! I would recommend Dr. Kaplan to anyone looking for a neurologist.
