Terrible bedside manner, left with no answers
What kind of doctor tells you that you have a thickened heart and then refuses to give you a prognosis, treatment recommendations or recommendations for follow up? I only even got a “diagnosis” name after ASKING for it!! Dr Ochoa didn’t want to work me up after my doctor referred me and then after he found something he told me I just need to discuss it with my regular doctor. I’m an overweight middle aged woman and from the moment I first met this doctor he was hostile towards me. He treated me like I was wasting his time. He didn’t listen to me when I talked about my 50 pound weight loss. He chastised me for “interrupting” him to tell him I’d developed dizzy symptoms since my doctor had first referred me. I don’t even know if I am able to go under anesthesia for my upcoming surgical procedure now. One of the worst experiences of my life with a medical professional. Avoid at all costs.

Outstanding
Dr Ochoa has been my cardiologist for the last 15 years or so. He is careful, thorough and always adds a personal touch to every visit. I should add that I am over 80 and had bypass surgery 20 years ago. I feel lucky to have found a cardiologist who meets my needs so well.

Dr. Ochoa is my father's doctor. My father is 91 years old, and very active. He had a triple bypass, and is doing fantastic thanks to Dr. Ochoa's follow up care. Not only is he an excellent doctor, his respect towards his patients reflex his integrity and compassion. He takes his time and listens and addresses any concerns they may have. I highly recommend him and so does my father.

My experience with Dr. Ochoa was great. He was attentive and answer my questions thoroughly. Although I do want to comment on front reception. On 10/6/20 at 4:20 the woman who answered the phone was not courteous, she repeatedly said you should of follow through with a curt tone. When I begin expressing my thoughts she was talking at the same time with coworkers. Then she ended ok you're set for an appointment and hanged up before my next question. It saddens me to say that staff who display that kind of behavior does bring the reputation down of the best doctors working there.

×Post a ResponseAre you Dr. Ochoa?
I was shocked to review my medical records and learn that this Doctor had checked that he examined me. Only once, in 8 office visits, after I asked, did he even listen to my heart. He never checked the carotid arteries nor did he check the pulse. These actions were documented as being done. This is negligence at the least and fraudulent documentation. I have since had a consulting visit and was amazed at the difference in the office visit.

I found Dr Ochoa quite charming. He reminded me very much of my former cardiologist, so I was comfortable right away. Though charming, he is very professional, as well as very through in regards to my heart & health. He answered all my questions, and if I did not understand, then he explained in simpler terms and never made me feel stupid. I would definitely recommend him.
