Terrible
He walked in the room and wasn’t the least bit interested in what was going on with me. He said my incontinence was something I would just have to suffer with. It was like I was keeping him from something important. Very condescending! Would NOT recommend!

Obnoxiously Condescending & Rude
The many reviews regarding Andress being rude, condescending are valid. He's the rudest & seemingly most incompetent Dr. I've ever encountered. He entered the room in an agitated state & immediately began to condescend; smirking & shaking his head. Without knowing anything whatsoever about me, he began to tell me how I was stupid to believe that I have IC - man seriously had not even reviewed my chart or med records. He seemed extremely angry that I've been diagnosed & treated for IC since 2001. IC is a very painful disorder & drs. like Andress are dismissive of it. (Thank God I've had a diff urologist all this time & I've received the care that I need.) He stated many careless & completely wrong things such as: IC cannot be diagnosed, I'm too young to have cancer (as I sat before him with both IC & Cancer diagnoses & have been under the care of urologists & oncologists for years) & IC doesn't cause vaginal pain (very 1st bullet on MayoClinic's IC info page disputes this nonsense).

My balls were sore and the doctor told me there was nothing that could be done about it. He said people even had their balls cut off to stop the pain. I was thinking about taking my own life. I couldn't sit down it hurt so bad. My wife suggested it might be a high dose of cholesterol meds I was taking. I stopped taking the meds and after one week began to feel less pain. I am now pain free and want the doctor to know he was wrong. He almost cost my life.

I found Dr. Andress to be an excellent Urologist. He is extremely thorough and knowledgeable but explains complex medical matters in understandable terms. Unfortunately, my stone required multiple treatments, but he would always call my cell to check on my progress. His staff are very accessible and helpful as well. Kidney stones are nothing to play around with. When its time for the knife, I'm not looking for a councilor. I want someone good with his hand. He certainly has earned my trust. A straight-shooter.

Unfortunately, this is a tale much like Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde. My first visit with Andress was wonderful. I had a kid. stone and he took time to listen and help. Since then, I have had pain in my right back. I saw my GP who did a CT which showed nothing abnormal. Yet, the pain persisted. I went back to Andress b/c of the first visit and the care I received hoping he could help. But from the moment he walked in the door he seemed perturbed and was antagonistic. He offered no greeting and did not even ask what the issue was. He just walked in and pronounced that this appointment was a waste of time. The CT scan showed there was nothing wrong. Therefore, he said my pain is [and I quote] "just my medical condition that I would just have to learn to live with." I tried to redirect and explain what I was going through but his tone and answers were both direct and demeaning. I dont know if he was having a bad day but I was shocked. I never write a review but I wanted to warn others.

He is the rudest Dr. I have ever met!! If you ask a question, he condescendingly answers it. I have surveyed 3 other Dr. that are urologists about the correct protocol for certain treatments and when asked those questions, he rudely answers . I would not ever recommend him to anyone!! Use Dr. Deighton, at least he is up on the latest treatment plans for certain conditions!!
