Dr. Venugopal Depala, MD

I couldn't be happier with the how wonderful Dr. Depala is to my son. He has such a great attitude and really wants to help his patients. He is absolutely the best!!

Dr. Depala is the best Psychiatrist I have seen in my 22 years living in Southern California. He is professional, compassionate, listens well, and is treating me well. I cannot recommend him highly enough.

I've been seeing Dr. Depala for about 3 years, and he is truly a compassionate and kind person. He is always on time, and, when I've been late or had to last minute reschedule, he's been very accommodating. There are so many quacks out there and you can be sure that Dr. Depala is not a quack. He is good people.

Depala’s run down office is a great example of the level of care this man provides. He would rather talk about his life and TV shows he likes rather than figure out ways to help improve your quality of life or mental health. Sadly, I stayed with him for over a year and he has made my life significantly worse at a time of need. This confirmed to me that he struggles to grasp the level of responsibility bestowed on doctors in this country. Keep looking if you want real health CARE.

Office is run down. Dr Depala needs to hold his office and himself to higher standards. He was cold and I was not able to understand most of the "lectures" from him. He talks so fast that he's not even "talking". I feel he has repeated these things so many times that he isn't even talking to you anymore as a person... he is simply reciting it all in a manner which you will not understand because it's at 100mph. Also there was a lot said that did not pertain to my appointment and I am out $215 and will not be going back.

I moved from the midwest and needed a new Psychiatrist. Dr. Depala was recommended to me. I had gone to my previous psychiatrist for 14 years and I was expecting Dr. Depala to collaborate with him. He did not. He was arrogant about it and bragged about how many people he had trained in the field. That should have been my first warning, however I was desperate for a Dr.. He went on to tell me the dosage of one of my medications would not be accepted here and lowered my dosage by 32 mg. Afte

Dr. Depala is an incredible psychiatrist. He truly cares about his patients. I am a police officer and have a tough job. Dr. Depala makes life so much more fulfilling. I had a work related stress incident about a year ago and I was having a rough time. He called me after hours to make sure I was ok. He is absolutely amazing!!!! Stephen Wilson

Excellent doctor that really cares! Dr. Depala treats both my children (boy and girl) and myself. He listens and adjusts medications as needed for the three of us. My children are also very comfortable around him and he is very supportive of them as well! We all feel we are in excellent hands with Dr. Depala!

I'm honestly not sure how this Doctor has such positive reviews. That was why I saw him in the first place. I listened to him talk about himself, wife, kids, medical schooling basically the entire time I was in his office. He asked close to nothing about me, told me to "write down my thoughts" and that will help me to sleep better and he doesn't like to give medicine! Wait time was awful and front desk was not friendly.

Prescribed too many different meds too quickly

This gentle kind hearted caring Doctor literally saved my life quite a few times. I love this man dearly and would tell anyone facing issues to please see him and his awesome staff. You are not just a number. You are cared for and he takes his time to get to know you. He knows my whole life story and brings me up everytime I see him. Again I'm facing cancer and scared and cried today. Brought my husband with me and by the time we left I was happy and smiling. We are lucky to have him.lisa

It is really hard to find a good psychiatrist who listens and cares and who doesn't just prescribe pills to keep the patient coming back. I left my last psych because she hardly spoke two words during my visits and wasn't receptive to my complaints. I did my research before selecting Dr. Depala. I feel that he listens and truly cares about my well-being.
