Dr. Venktesh Rangnath, MD

Unnecessarily prescribed potentially dangerous hormones because I was not menstruating and told me I should be menstruating until age 55. He did not even figure out I was in actual menopause in my late forties.He then claimed he felt a lump, but the mammogram showed no such lump or any abnormality. Just more unnecessary testing to pad the bill. The worst is a doctor who can't even diagnose a common, frequently seen condition (menopause). The patient will suffer.

My experience with Dr. Rangnath has been amazing. The Silver Spring, MD office staff are not as friendly, but the Rockville, MD office are very cheerful. Now back to sharing my experience with Dr. Rangnath. I have dealt with Dr. Rangnath since 2016 although he did not deliver our 1st child he was present throughout the entire experience. And for that reason, we scheduled our 2019 and 2021 birth delivery with him. He is patient, professional, and soft spoken. Dr. Rangnath granted all my wishes and allowed me to play music during the delivery. My entire family appreciate Dr. Rangnath hard work!

I came to Dr. Rangnath after being hospitalized for 2 1/2 days on IV antibiotics and the Hospital Doctors unsure of the cause. The ID physician recommended seeing a GYN just for a rule out. I was able to get in to see Dr. Rangnath the next day, I had never seen him before. Although it was nothing GYN related he read my discharge notes, was concerned about what I had been going through and took a complete history. He questioned why a CT was not done in the hospital as had been recommended by the Ultra Sound read. He ordered the CT which I had the following day. Less than 24 hours later he called me and said go to an ER, I was going to have double surgery. He is now my regular GYN although previously I had stopped using one and instead was seeing my primary care physician. He is holistic in his approach, looking at the total person, takes time with you, has a gentle touch and demeanor and is caring. A winner on all accounts.

Great doctor, but HORRIBLE STAFF. Always rude and unprofessional. Always with attitude. After giving me the wrong results for my lab work over the phone (none of them knew the difference between a urine culture and a urinalysis), they became irate when I refused to let them talk over me. They said I could not come back there anymore. They would never make it in New York, or another big city, where their incompetence would prevent them from ever holding a job. Find someone else to be your doctor.

Dr. Rangnath is a nice guy but incompetent delivery doctor. He is impatient and rude. I felt like I was at performance review rather than delivery table. Thank god for the nurse assigned who ended up getting a dula while doctor had to leave for another patient. She made it happen and happy to see doc came in to take credit for her work. He is ok for routine check ups but very surgery happy and impatient in delivery room. A big NO NO.... please choose carefully.
