Arrogant, Disinterested in the Patient
I've lost 40lbs in the past year after engaging in a rigorous cycling/spinning regimen. Unfortunately, in that same time, I developed two symptoms that I, as a non-medical-professional, thought were certainly cardiac related. During my appointment with Dr. Marin, she appeared to me to be completely disinterested in my case and actually told me she didn't trust that I was actually experiencing one of the symptoms. It seems she made up her mind from a three-minute exam, and that my input as the actual patient was completely unimportant to her. I then gave her an opportunity to "clean up" the disaster that was my appointment with her. She declined, suggesting to me she thought there wasn't anything wrong with her behavior. I definitely would not recommend her to anyone I care about.

Would not recommended
Dr. Marin pretty much dismissed all of my concerns and basically told me "there's nothing wrong with your heart". Finally found a doctor who actually listened to me and took my concerns seriously. After doing a tilt table test I was diagnosed with P.O.T.S. and was referred to another cardiologist.

Depressing. I have new onset shortness of breath when laying flat and with exertion, edema, and I started forming too many red blood cells, again, presumably because I have obstructive sleep apnea, which has been treated with CPAP for the past two years. My PCP wanted a cardiac evaluation. She was dismissive of my concerns and never asked about my symptoms. She zeroed in on my BMI. She listened to my heart and lungs but ordered no studies. She is basically a gatekeeper. She declined to discuss a workup or treatment plan beyond losing 10% of my body weight. My thyroid was destroyed with radioactive iodine 30 years ago. My metabolism, temperature, and resting heart rate have been subnormal ever since. I try to eat right and have been exercising 4-5 hours weekly for the past two months. I actually felt worse after our visit, which is unusual. She did dictate a full report that was ready quickly. I would not recommend her if you are looking for a definitive diagnosis.

Personally, I would not recommend Dr. Marin. I felt like she didn't care about me, and she wasn't interested in helping me get better. She dismissed my pain completely and didn't offer any advice or treatments that could possibly help with my pain. She didn't tell me what she was doing during a very brief exam which left me uncomfortable and feeling awkward. In total she maybe spent 3-4 minutes with me and then sent me home feeling invalidated and very frustrated.

I wish that other physicians were like Dr. Marin. She is a great listener and easy to talk to. I have been very happy with her guidance and treatment over the years. If you need to see a cardiologist I highly recommend Dr. Marin.

I felt Dr Marin was dismissive and disinterested. She didn’t initiate dialogue. It seemed that since I wasn’t about to die on the table from obvious heart problems my case wasn’t worth much thought or consideration. Typical.

I would and have recommended people to see Dr. Marin. When she saw me, she had read my information so when she came to talk to me and she knew my medical history. She explained what was happening and test results in a manner I was able to understand. I have complete confidence in her as my doctor!
