Dr. Van Ann Tran, MD

Dr. Tran changed my life! She is the best! I have Guillain barre syndrome with Miller Fisher variant and many issues due to paralysis in my face. I had ptosis surgery just a couple days ago with her and my eyes looks perfect now! I feel like the person I was before I got this syndrome. She knows exactly what she is doing. She knows all my medical history; she was always open to making me feel good as her patient. My surgery was wonderful and as soon as I came out of the surgery the change was impressive. I look good, I feel good, I see very well!! and I am only in the post-operative stage. I will be eternally grateful to her. She changed my life and if you are looking for a doctor, I assure you that she is the best oculoplastic doctor in Illinois (and in the country).

I have thyroid eye disease (TED) due to Graves Disease. I had extreme sensitivity to light, constant tearing/red/sensitive eyes that made it hard to get sleep, and couldn't wear contacts. It took a MASSIVE toll on my mental/emotional health. They bulged SO much. Dr. Tran is so well-informed on the current evidence. She can be quick, but she is VERY thorough. I bring a list of many questions and she makes sure to answer every single one! She even brought in the endocrinologist in the TED team (Dr. Toft) to the room to answer my questions and get his opinion. I have NEVER had this happen anywhere else. We spoke about my options since I was in the stable phase and I preferred orbital decompression surgery (not Tepezza). She did SO well for my surgery. Day 5 post-op today and both eyes are down almost half a cm each, which is CRAZY. I want to cry because I see myself in the mirror again. She gave me my face back!! I have been healing swiftly since post-op day 1! I am SO happy I found her!
