My first Telemedicine 'interview' with DO Davae was more like talking to a prosecutor than a doctor, never mind a MENTAL HEALTH professional. I was thinking of trying Ketamine for my lifelong PTSD; instead the appointment ADDED to my trauma! No warmth or softness. In addition there is NO WAY to email her directly; she doesn't HAVE an email address, doesn't answer her own phone; she's behind a firewall. The only way I got a response from her was to 'report' her to a board member whom I knew. Adding insult to injury, she ordered lab tests that were UNNECESSARY had she asked me directly about them and I now have an uninsured lab bill for closed to $500. Altogether the worst mental health experiences I've ever had.

I saw Dr Davea at the Martinez walk in clinic last year. She changed my life, making me realized for the first time how I engage in the same unconscious behaviors as what happened to me when I was a kid exposed to a lot of trauma. She spent over an hour with me, one of the first docs to ever listen to my whole story. Finally I found someone who diagnosed me correctly with PTSD and not bipolar, and now my meds are changed and finally working.
