Dr. Umang Sood, MD

Dr. Umang has been my daughter’s pediatrician since birth. She implemented a plan to ween her from significant doses of asthma medications over several years. My daughter has now been completely off of asthma medications for almost a year, and her lungs are strong and healthy. A less diligent provider may have either rushed her or allowed her to rely on medication permanently, but Dr. Umang took cues from our child, adjusted as needed, educated us as parents, and got her to a place we didn’t imagine possible. Further, she truly loves our daughter, and the feeling is entirely mutual. We are grateful for her compassionate and skillful care.

Dr. Sood gaslit me that my pain was simply a manifestation of a mental illness and that I was desiring a chronic illness. She failed to refer me to specialists. She constantly dismissed my symptoms and concerns, and I only stayed with her because I was about to age out and did not want a new pediatrician for a short time. She sent me a dismissal of care. Instead of understanding her limits (which I would have greatly respected and understood) and finding me specialists, her ego led her to put unwarranted blame on me. She threw me out as soon as it was getting difficult for her and she was lazy. Her incompetence as a doctor truly stunted my journey to a diagnosis and treatment. I do not want anyone to share my experience. Dr. Sood is a young doctor, and I strongly urge her to improve and grow as a doctor. Being her patient was dehumanizing and devastating. She truly is an incompetent doctor, and I would never recommend her. I deserved much better.
