We saw Dr. Agharkar for over 8 years and have nothing but good things to say. Very surprised to see some of the other reviews, but honestly, I usually only see people review doctors when they want to complain (especially in the case of childcare and parents who think they know better...trust me, we meet a lot in our circles). Our son needed medication from a young age, and his pediatrician referred us to Dr. Agharkar. She has always been kind, thoughtful, and highly competent, working with us to make sure we're on board every step of the way while always laying out the pros and cons of different options. When our youngest needed to start seeing a psychiatrist, we were very happy to go through Dr. Agharkar once again. Clinic staff could occasionally be hit or miss, but were generally friendly. The only complaints I have were around scheduling and issues with medication refills, but in my experience, those were more related to Kaiser as a whole rather than specific doctors.

Terrible experience with this doctor. She withheld my daughter's medication to teach her a lesson, leading her to self-medicate with other substances to replace them, then told her she'd have to go through drug rehab to get her medication back. It didn't matter that every other doctor that was seeing my child in hospitals and treatments centers and her school psychologist were outraged that Dr. Agharkar had done this and asked her to reconsider. My child flunked school and attempted suicide twice during this time period. I finally pulled her out of Kaiser and went with a PPO. She now has a wonderful psychiatrist who prescribed the medicines that had been working in the past and my daughter is covered for a fantastic DBT therapy program now that she's not with Kaiser. She's doing well in school, managing her emotions, making new friends and hasn't used anything but her prescribed medications since she started seeing her new doctor. Leaving Kaiser saved my child's life.
