Dr. Ty Robinson, DO

He is a bit standoffish, but I had neither a positive nor negative opinion of him until my last appointment. At 39 weeks he stripped my membrane without consent. It was extremely painful, and I was not made aware of what he did until it was over. I was extremely upset because not only was this done without my permission, but it caused me to go into labor a few hours later and I was not able to receive my full dose of antibiotics prior to giving birth (Group B Strep). Some moms would be okay with this procedure, but I would have liked to be given more information and the opportunity to consent

Appointment was rushed. Didn’t introduce himself. Came in the room and sat on the stool as far as he could get from me and crossed his arms. First words he said were ‘I don’t know why you are here.’ I explained my issue. Never examined me, no labs, imaging, etc. After a trip to the ER for severe LLQ pain. ER told me to follow up with OBGYN. He is not who I usually see but quickest to get an appointment with. He said I was having nothing more that ovulation discomfort. He was in the room with me less than 5 minutes. He dismissed me and walked out of the room. Turns out I had a large ovarian mass that took over 7 hours to remove by an oncology gynecologist specialist. Dr. Robinson didn’t listen to me. Just said to follow up in 3 months if I was still having issues. Gave me a medication for ‘pain’. The medication was a skeletal muscle relaxer that has no off label use for ovarian pain issues. The doctor I normally see questioned why he put me on that medication. Would not recommend.

Dr Robinson has always listened, and taken multiple approaches towards my health. He cared for me throughout my pregnancy, delivered my baby and continues to provide exceptional care. I couldn’t ask for a better doctor.
