Have you ever been in the most excruciating pain of your life and prayed that a medical professional would come to the rescue and save you? I have. This past weekend at Northwell Plainview. I arrived there Saturday evening in the ER after a biopsy from Friday that had complications. Dr Hsaio was the urologist who saw me Sunday morning. Dr Hsaio could be the least compassionate and most hands off doctor I’ve met in my life. Oddly enough he was my dad’s urologist years back and he didn’t care for him either. When he arrived to see me, he basically said let’s wait and see and go from there. For 3 days I laid in the most excruciating pain of my life. Nothing helped. Every day Dr Hsaio would walk in talk to me and leave. Never touched me. Never examined me. Just let me lay and suffer for days. He asked if I spoke to the doctor at Sloan who performed my surgery. I told him the floor doctor did. I asked if he would speak to him or Sloan and he said no they were handling it. YOU’RE THE SPECIALIST. Finally Tuesday I was brought to Sloan where they replaced the incorrect sized catheter from Northwell Plainview. From that moment on, no pain, no bleeding, no screaming in agony. Had Dr Hsaio taken the time or had the compassion to actually do his job and examine me and address the issues I was having, maybe I wouldn’t have suffered for 3 days. But he didn’t. So in conclusion, if you need a urologist, avoid this man at all costs. The only thing you’ll get is ignored and probably a bill for thousands of dollars that I will ensure never gets paid.

Dr Hsiao spent an appropriate amount of time with me diagnosing and explaining results so that I did not feel rushed to end the visit. The doctor answered my questions patiently and made sure I understood. His new office is much more comfortable and bright than his prior office. Current office staff is very friendly and courteous.
