Dr. Tsinsue Chen, MD

I conferred with Dr. Chen on Feb. 12 re my neuropathy with multiple aspects. On March 10 she did a laminectomy and a spinal fusion of vertebrae C3 through T2. The precision and care needed in the operation truly struck me. The restoration of function for me began immediately with return of temperature sensitivity in my hands and partial relief of neuresthesia and finger dexterity. Dramatically at 2 weeks I recovered strength in biceps, triceps, deltoids, and quadriceps as well as proprioception in my legs and feet. Dr. Chen and the support team at Barrow Brain and Spine and at Chandler Regional Medical Center were excellent. They informed me and my wife about every procedure and need at every stage. I am forever grateful.

Dr. Chen performed vascular decompression surgery to relieve my Trigeminal neuralgia nerve pain which I had for 8 years. The surgery went as expected and my pain is gone. Dr, Chen and the entire Barrows medical and administrative staff were professional, kind and caring. I am so happy to have a normal life back again.

2 years ago, Dr. Chen did MVD surgery to treat my trigeminal neuralgia. From then on, I gain my normal life again. Dr. Chen is such a wonderful individual, and a great doctor. We will be forever greatful for her skills and expertise. I hope that she will have more patients like me, who could have their life back.

Dr. Chen was kind and compassionate. She addressed concerns before and after my chiari decompression surgery. Her bedside manner was wonderful and she always took time to help my pain and was excited to see me improve so much.

Had a horrible experience. Do not recommend this neurosurgeon, she was rude and has terrible bedside manners. Didnt explain my condition well. I do not want anyone to see her, complete waste of my time

Friendly, took lots of time with us to explain all possibilities and needed tests before a diagnosis and the options for treatment. Also very nice staff and Barrow Spine group. Smart and knowledgeable Doctor.

I found Dr. Chen with Barrow Second Opinion. She is a wonderful doctor. I appreciate how much time she spent with me on each visit (2x/3x more than other MD's in same field). She thoroughly went through images and answered all questions. She was patient and forthright. I feel she takes a conservative approach if possible. My first diagnosis was a lumbar synovial cyst with recommended fusion. I felt this was an accurate diagnosis but warranted a 2nd opinion. Dr. Chen confirmed the diagnosis but thought a less aggressive procedure would be a good choice. Finally, 1 week from scheduled surgery, she ordered a 2nd MRI. She saw very positive changes in the MRI and personally called me to recommend we postpone and hold off on any surgery and continue with conservative care. I am improving and it is possible, at least for the near future, that Dr. Chen's approach and thoroughness saved me from a fusion and even a surgery at all. Dr. Chen is kind, articulate, and walks you through your options.

Terrible bedside manner , very non caring . Dr. Chen did not want to help me with my pinched nerve said she did not know why I could not walk , waste of time .

Dr Chen saved my life. I was 39, had brain tumor and cyst out of nowhere that caused me to go to the ER. I had a headache on that Friday and had brain surgery on Monday. Her bedside manner is amazing. She is kind, sweet, and did an amazing job with my surgery. 5 stars isn't enough! I hope she never has to operate on me again but I'm so thankful for her professionalism and care in treating me.

Dr Chen is the most caring and knowledgeable Doctor. She went way above and beyond in her care and skill level. She saved my daughters life. We love her so much.

Unbelievably talented and skilled neurosurgeon. I had DBS surgery in 02-2020, and feel that she, her staff, and all the Chandler Regional Medical Facility personnel were outstanding in every conceivable way. Do your research, but you will not find a better neurosurgeon.
