Went to Dr Russo after rolling my ankle and it getting progressively worse over a week. Xrays were done- no breaks. She palpated the area and determined it was just a sprain and I should be walking on it. When I explained that walking on it had worsened the situation, she instructed me that the aircast I was using per an urgent care doc was overkill, that she would wrap it for me and after a couple days, be back to using a tennis shoe. The wrap was a wet plaster bandage done directly on my skin, with a pressure bandage over wrap. I was also given an incorrectly-sized surgical shoe. By the next day, the plaster bandage was still wet and not secure enough to stabilize my ankle. I cut off the wet bandage and returned to my aircast, as her suggestions had failed and further increased the swelling, pain and bruising. Since then, I've seen an ortho surgeon, who diagnosed a damaged tendon. Dr Russo was dismissive and condescending, but worse, she didn't do her job correctly.
