One year ago, I was out walking with my dog on a beautiful sunny day when suddenly, I had what looked like Black spiderwebs and flashes in my vision. I immediately called my eye doctor who was in a conference in California and the office was able set up an Emergency appointment with Tallman Eye Associates in Lawrence, MA. Dr. Tomasz Stryjewski did a complete examination and determined I had Three areas that had detached from my retina. Dr. Stryjewski injected gas in my eye and I had to lay on my side for a week so that bubble would push back against the wall of the retina, the bubble dissipated and Laser surgery was completed. The surgery was a success!!! I went back for my yearly follow up to find that I have another section of my left eye that needs to be addressed-strengthened before it detaches.How do you thank someone for saving your Eyesight!!!! Dr. Stryjewski is the epitome of an ophthalmology specialist. He is a gifted surgeon far beyond his years and I will always be thankful for the incredible care I received. He is the most down to earth doctor you will ever meet. He explains medical terminology in regards to your condition in terms you can understand. I flew up to Boston, met with Dr. Stryjewski and the next week he performed surgery for a macular hole in my retina. In a few weeks, I was able to see my world. I was so filled with fear and apprehension and had so many questions. He took all the time needed to reassure me that I was in excellent skilled hands. I was surprised at how easy and painless the procedure was. The surgery was performed at Orchard Surgical Center in Salem, NH with an amazing skilled staff so full of empathy. The follow-up 1 day, 1 week, 1 month were scheduled right at the time of surgery. The ultimate end result is that I am so grateful for Dr Stryjewski who restored my vision.

I cannot say enough positive things about my experience at Mass Eye and Ear and the excellent care I received by Dr. Stryjewski, his surgical staff, and the staff at his office. My surgery experience was totally pain free and extremely successful. After living with a very large dark floater in my right eye for nearly a year (the eye I mainly rely on for my vision) which had greatly affected my ability to read, write and drive, I was finally able to have my life back. I can now read and write, cut veggies or fruit, and perform other close up tasks so much easier and with much more confidence. The VERY BEST result from the surgery is now I can confidently drive again without having my vision severely impacted by an obstructive and intrusive floater. Dr Stryjewski diagnosed and treated the macular hole in my retina. He explained the surgery and treatment needed and answered all my questions and concerns with empathy. Dr Stryjewski’s expertise in retina surgery saved my eyesight in my left eye. I am so thankful that I was able to be one of his patients.

Dr. Stryjewski has been treating my elderly mother for both macular degeneration as well as cataract implant issues which have occurred 25 years post surgery. He has been genuinely kind, gentle and understanding of her apprehensions and fears and put her at ease. I have been seeing Doctor Stryjewski for my macular degeneration. At the beginning my eye was bleeding badly. Now 4 months later, it is almost normal. He is gentle, caring and clearly very talented. I am lucky to have found him.

Dr. Stryjewski is truly one of the very best, professional and compassionate. He diagnosed my retinal tear explaining and answering any questions I had at the Mass Eye & Ear emergency unit. As I have only one eye and that is where the retinal tear occured he performed Laser Surgery that evening. He followed up with a call the next day and this being on a weekend. I could not have had better care and thank him!
