This was by far one of the worse neurologist I have ever seen and I have seen many. He didn't listen to a word I said. He disputed the diagnosis the neurologist team came up with that was treating me in the hospital. His notes from the date of my visit didn't cover even half of our conversation. Then I was told what happened to me was "nothing" well guess what doctor to me and my family it was huge! Then in the end it turned out the team of doctors that treated me in hospital did indeed have the correct diagnosis. Take time to listen to your patients! And remember what happens to your patients is always big to them and as their doctor it should be to you as well.

I had a small stroke and Dr Gropen was my attending doctor at UAB emergency. The staff was exceptional and Dr. Gropen spent the time to explain to me and my wife what had happened and what I needed to do to keep this from happening again. It has been two years and thankfully I am much better. My Dad died of a stroke and my Mom is in a nursing home from strokes. I feel confident in Dr. Gropen and his staff in taking care of me. I thank God for having Dr. Gropen at UAB.
